Today was the surfing competition. Bridgette and Katie went over to Trent who was skating on his skateboard. "Hey, Trent" Bridgette said. "Oh hey girls," he said. "Maybe when you get tired of the pipe, come surf some real waves," Bridgette said. "Hey, were all going night surfing tommarrow night, wanna come?" he asked. "Sure, as if we have nothing better to do," Bridgette replied. "Okay, I'll pick you up. Bye girls," "Bye" Katie and Bridgette said.
The competition began. All the surfers paddled out to sea. Heather was eager to win. She headed for the first wave. Bridgette had no chance to get that wave. Bridgette tried to get the second wave but Katie got it.
The judges announced the places. "Heather, black, you are in first. You scored a 7.3 on your first wave. Katie, pink, you are in second. You scored a 6.1 on your last wave. Courtney, orange, you are in third. Gwen, white, you are in fourth. Bridgette, blue, you are in fifth. Lindsay, red, you are in sixth.
Bridgette started paddling to get the next wave. She dove under the water and got inside. She got up and rode the wave. "Wow, Bridge is doing good. You scored a 5.8 on your last wave so that means you are in third place, pink in second, and black in first," The judges said.
Bridgette felt confident and went for the next wave. Heather went for it too. The were paddling to get in the center. Heather and Bridgette dove under the water and got in the middle of the wave. Bridgette was about to get up on her board but Heather got up first and scored a 4.3 on her wave.
Bridgette went to the shore. Her dad comes over by her. "Heather full on stole my wave. I had position," Bridgette said. "She's just messing with you. She wants to win. You thirsty?" Her dad said and asked. "Yeah" Bridgette replied.
Bridgette went back into the water. The competition is almost over. Just 2:34 on the clock. She tried to get the next wave. Heather smiled and went for it too. The were paddling towards the wave, neck and neck. Bridgette dove under the water and got on her board and rode the wave. She kicked water up as she did her "surfing dance moves". The spinned and leaned to make it look amazing.
"Wow Bo. She is going at it. Bridgette Hamilton is holding nothing back. She's riding the wave like no tommarrow," One of the judges said.
The timer ran out and the competition was over. "Alright, Bridgette was looking for a 9.2 to overcome second place. She scored a 9.4 on her wave, so that means she is in first place!" The judges said.
Bridgette was so happy! She won the competition. The went over to get there trophys. They were also on tv.
"Okay, Katie Blachard, you got third place," A judge said and he handed her her trophy. "Heather Birch, you got second place," The judge handed her the trophy. "Great job, Heather," Bridgette said. "And Bridgette Hamilton, you got first place. You're the new favorite," The judge said and he handed her her trophy.
Bridgette pulled Katie up on her first place stand. Katie was a first place winner too in Bridgette's eyes. "Hey, Heather come on!" Bridgette said as she motioned her to come up too. Heather just walked away.
A man said to them if they wanted to get sponsered. They said yes. "Hey, brother Tom," A friend of Bridgette's father said to him. "Hey, she was amazing, you trained her good," he said. "With her will, her power, she could go far,"
Bridgette and Katie were in church and Izzy was explaining to get a new perspective if you get to close to anything. "Alright that's all the time we have. So if you are going on the Mexico trip, I need your permission SLIPS!" she said. Bridgette came up to her with a box of stuff. "Oh, hey. What's all this?" Izzy asked. "Well, since I have to train for the Regionals, I can't come to Mexico," She set the box down on a table. There were a bunch of things. "I made the bracelets, Noah donated the shoes and the spam is from Cody. I'm really sorry," she said. "Hey, it's okay! This is great. And thanks for helping. We were looking forward you comming but I understand. Gook luck!" Izzy said. Bridgette really wanted to go but she couldn't. She got bummed out.
