Why does everybody(or at least mostly everybody)on here hate DuncanxCourtney?

Because Duncan & Courtney are the worst kind of relationship there is- The kind where you'll hate them one minute & 3 seconds later you'll be in bed with them.
The TDI Fanbase has made them an overrated mockery for TDI. Even the writers gave that couple more screentime than any other couple, which is incredibly unfair. Let's not forget the Gwen/Trent breakup; Sure, let's break up two people in love, EVERY girl dreams of that. But doesn't every girl want to go out with some juvie poser & end up hating him throughout the ENTIRE relationship? The only time Courtney ever actually cared about Duncan is when he was helping her win the money.
So they barley have a relationship.
Plus, the fans ruined it for me.

When I look back at the TDI episodes where Duncan and Courtney click or have one of those comforting romantic moments, it's really cute and I can't help but say 'Aww!', even if I am a DxG fan. But....... I'm just gonna say it. I don't remember much of the past, but, just a few days ago I noticed that I used to be totally OBSESSED with DxC! When I noticed this, I couldn't believe it myself because, let's face it, things have changed. That strong, loving bond that Duncan and Courtney had in Total Drama Island, has faded away. Ok, I can't say that it was GONE. It just faded away. In Total Drama Action, when Courtney came back she didn't TRUST Duncan. And isn't trust the most important thing in a healthy relationship? She accused Duncan of cheating on her with Gwen when he clearly stated that they were just friends, which was true. Yeah, the whole trust thing just caught be off guard 'cause I believe that if there isn't trust in a relationship, there isn't anything at all. Then, further in the game, Courtney decided that she wanted to change Duncan. She tried to change his supposed 'flaws'. And what was up with the whole contract thing? In my opinion, a person who truly loves another person, loves him/her for who they are, including their flaws. And did you see Courtney's lam-o-sine tape? I thought that was just plain cruel. Overall, in TDA, I observed their relationship as slowly crumbling. In TDWT, when Duncan returned, the day after she was seen talking to Gwen with yet another list of Duncan's flaws that she had to change to make him her image of the 'perfect' boyfriend. Well, nobody's perfect. Sure, she still cared for Duncan, but...... I don't know, the love was lost. Plus, I don't support a relationship that won't hold up for long. Duncan and Courtney are always fighting, breaking up, then getting back together again. I have to agree that it's interesting, but that just proves that they don't hold a strong bond. In fact, I just think Duncan likes Courtney because of her high maintenance attitude and power. I don't know. Basically, I just think that, what once was, didn't last for long. *sigh*

Ignore them. Those fans are haters and jerks, that are insensitive. It's really ridiculous actually. We have a right to talk about whatever we want when ever we want, and no one she have the power say no. To me, Duncan and Courtney are like the best couple that ever lived.

I'm a DxC fan (hence the username). I don't hate people because they don't like them either. I also like them because they're interesting. They have tension and they leave you wondering what they're gonna do next. Plus they can have their really sweet moments sometimes too (EX. Courtney comforting Duncan when he faced his fear, Duncan wondering if Courtney was looking at the stars)

I don't "hate" them but find them way over exposed as a couple in the fandom. Much like on TDA everyone was tired of Geoff and Bridgette's makeout sessions, fanart and fanfiction and topics being dominated by DxC, is getting tiresome. There are over 20 other characters on the show after all. My favorite characters are Heather, DJ, Izzy, Cody and LeShawna, Duncan and Courtney dropped down some due to overexposure...

Think about it this way, Batman and Wolverine are cool but sometimes, like to hear about other members in the Justice League or X-men.

Well this is coming from a former DxC fan. I used to be obsessed with the couple throughout TDI. Then in TDA, I began to get sick of them. I hated the way Courtney treated Duncan. Poor Duncan probably won't be able to make kids because of Courtney kicking his balls all the time. All this couple did was fight and makeout, and trust me, it gets old fast. I thought it was cute in TDI, but seeing them do the same routine in TDA made me want to puke. Like rockzsanders said, this couple got WAY too much attention. What about Tyler and Lindsay? What about Leshawna and Harold? What about Owen and Izzy? They could've done so much which these couples if they didn't have every episode about DxC. This is why I am now a DxG fan. DxC annoyed me completely, and they still annoy me. I am not trying to be rude, but I think they needed to break up for good. Of course, I don't like how Duncan basically cheated on Courtney, but I do like that both Duncan and Courtney won't be stressed anymore because of each other.

DxC was the most highlighted couple on the show until TDWT. It was always DxC this DxC that. People got to worked up about it. You can't say everyones doing it. And if you wanna talk about DxC just write no hate comments on the top of your posts. DxC is overtalked. I got on here last year. 2010. I saw loads of s**t about DxG. It was pretty bad. And I got hated by DxC fans. I was new. I knew nothing about the fan wars. And they called me names. I expressed my feelings about DxG. And how I saw DxC. It was sorta bad but they had NO right to hate on me. But I remembered. Haters gonna hate. It happens everywhere. Some take it to far but still haters gonna hate. You can never stop it. Never. You just gotta live with. I do it. Some DxC fans are fine with DxG, those guys are AWESOME. Well sorry if this wasn't exactly what you wanted as a comment. But yeah remember. HATERS GONNA HATE. Just live with it.

Wow, looking at all of these answers it sounds like GwenxDuncan might be the better liking. Personally, I think Courtney loved Duncan and he loves her back, however, the way COurtney treated him was terrible. I could understand because she's usually agianst rebels and punks, but at the same time was in love with one! So that's probably why Duncan was treated poorly. I mean she truely did love him, she was devistated when Duncan cheated her like that. They were both to blame though. Because Courtney treated him poorly and because he cheated on her, when he could've just ask to break up.

Reasons why DxC aren't compatible(in my opinion):
1) Duncan is punk, Courtney is a bossy little "you know what"

2) Courtney is intimidating, why else would Duncan have stayed with her all that time

The reason why it's one of the most hated pairings is because the relationship is mainly based on hate more than love.

Duncan and Courtney come from two completely different background: Courtney is a Straight-A, bossy, somewhat bitch girl who is perfectionist and is constantly following the rules. Duncan, however, is the typical bad boy persona: punk clothing, the I-don't-give-a-shit attitude, constantly breaking the rules and has been to juvie. Although the classic 'opposites attract' relationship started out fine in TDI, it started disintegrating by TDA.

In TDA, in short: Courntey lost her mind. She began increasingly jealous of Gwen and Duncan's friendship, believe that they were having an affair which, at the time, they weren't. It was because of that jealous and the anger of not being in the season 2 that she began calling her lawyers like crazy and using any methods to get back at everyone. She was also very egotistical, claiming that because she was a CIT that she would win and that the money rightfully belong to her. Plus, she started abusing Duncan because of her believement of him liking Gwen more then her.

In TDWT, Duncan has had enough of Courtney's controling attitude and falls in love with Gwen, who had just become friends with Courtney, thus turning Courtney insane, making Gwen into a villan and Duncan into a heartless asshole.

So in short, why is DXC one of the most hated TDI couple: blame the freakin; writers for screwing up everyone's characters!

I love Duncan & Courtney! They are my favorite cartoon couple of all time! However I can see why some people hate them. It is repetitive, like many other people have said (They hate each other, they like each other, she kicks Duncan:P) and the show seems to focuse on them instead of other couples (Tyler/Lindsay, Lashawna/Harold, etc...). I love D/C but the show should really show more of the more "minor" couples.

I've seen more DxC lovers than haters.

But anyway normally people tend to revolt against parts of a fandom with the most seemingly obnoxious fans. Or maybe it's because Teletoon had the whole "On and Off relationships" done to death (See: In Stoked and 6teen) I personally am neutral towards both DxC and DxG, I don't like one more than the other but I hate how seriously people are taking this love triangle.

I respect others likes and dislikes, I will not stereotype/hate on all DuncanxCourtney fans by what pairing they like. That would be ignorant.

I think they're cute together most of the time so I cant decide. BUTTTT I support Noah/Courtney more because I could see the potential for greatness in NxC where as DxC has kind of gotten stale.
Don't get me wrong though, it still has it's moments. And at least if Duncan left Gwen Cody might finally get his chance. ;)

Well, I honestly see a lot of DxC love rather than hate. However, I can see why they are hated....heck, I despise that couple! DxC is annoying and they have turned into an overrated couple. It is constantly them fighting and Courtney trying to control Duncan. It is just sad. Not to mention, that a lot of us were really sick of all the screen time that DxC got. It was getting old.....it's about time for other characters and new couples to get their shot. Out with the old and in with the new. :)
