After seeing the cast, I am utterly disappointed. I still can't say that live action series is going to be a trash, but there are positive reasons why I believe it can distort our expectations. First, they have already messed up with the characters. What I mean by "messed up" is they removed half of the main characters (protagonists). Like Flora is replaced by Terra and Tecna is replaced by Beatrix. Yes, you read right. Flora and Tecna aren't part of this live series.
Flora has a huge fan base and Tecna is really part of our beloved Winx. I can't even imagine Winx Club without them. Please bring them back! Even fans don't accept Terra as Flora's replacement. They aren't happy with Terra/Flora's cast either. I myself personally feel Eliot Salt (Flora's cast) is lot chubbier. I can't accept her as Flora. Legends say that she has blocked her instagram DM cause she was tired of reading her hate comments from fans. Alright, jokes aside.... Now, looking onto Tecna/Beatrix , I am utterly confused about this. We don't have much news from Tecna's fandom either, so we have got to wait for further announcements.
Next, talking about about their skin color, I don't know why they decided to whitewash Flora in season 8. It same goes for live-action series too. I would have liked it more if Flora had her old skin back as it made her look glamorous. It damn did suit her and made me like her even more! I hate this whitewash concept.
I don't know why they didn't keep an Asian actress in the cast. I suppose an Asian would have been perfect fit for Musa. I am a hell not happy with Aisha's cast too. It's not at all acceptable.
According to the official webpage, they have decided the roles of Sky and Riven, but what about the other specialists? This is crazy and ridiculous cause I am pretty sure Helia, Brandon, Timmy and Nex are still part of the show. We need them on stage! I felt disgusted that they didn't give a spot for other specialists.
The shooting has already begun. We don't yet know about the events and storyline. There will be an overall six episodes only.
After knowing all this I was like can someone explain me what is wrong with the officials. I am shocked and still don't understand what they are trying to do. I really don't want the live action series to destroy my favourite childhood show. I am already disappointed with season 8's artwork and graphics. Still I guess I can give the Netflix live-action series a chance. Yes, I am not going to judge a book by its cover. I am sure that there might be some good reasons for us to watch this show. We might enjoy watching it even if we are given a good storyline.
