Hello I'm the Winx Critic, I remember it so you don't have to! Well after our more than a month wait (What was the point of that Nick, really. Lemme tell you what happened while we waited: "The Desolation of Smaug" came out, Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary Special came out, Catching Fire came out, Thor 2 came out, Lady GaGa released her newest album "Artpop" and I just--why) we finally get to see this new abomination known as Bloomix. Now, I have to admit, some of the transformations look semi-decent. But that name, and where it comes from...curse its origin to the fiery bowels of hell! *clears throat* But, without further ado, let's dive into this...crap-fest known as "Bloomix Power"...oh boy.

The episode starts off with the focus being back to Limphea where the Treeants are still trying to take down the very few remaining fairies that still stand (And specialists...I guess). After a few of the kids start wailing and complaining, the Trix show up; saying that as long as these fairies cry like little bitches, the Winx will show up.

We're then taken to Alfea where the Winx seem to be giving zero fucks about what's going down at Flora's home planet. Like, really guys. Trees are grabbing fairies and a group of powerful witches has the place under control, and all you have the time to do is construct a gym? Well now I can see where your priorities lie (Oh never mind, they obviously built that flying thing without any magic what-so-ever, to train--in heels--to save the girls from the evil villains...makes sense) So they start jumping around (Layla's old hairstyle is back ;w; *sobs into the sun*) but eventually this all comes to a halt when Faragonda and the Specialists walk in; Faragonda explaining, once again that Bloom is the best thing ever and literally gets a fucking transformation named after her. Hooray. She tells them to get to work on their training, saying that Daphne is in the library (Or her classroom, I don't give a fuck) researching the Treeads (But like, what is there to research? You have Flora and she's from the freaking planet! She probably knows the story by heart, and everyone at the "collage" seemed to know what they are, so why do more research when we already know what they are? Obviously Lord of the Rings ripoffs)

With Daphne, we see her doing her obviously pointless research, Thorin (PFFFFFT) walking in and handing her the story book where the tale of these things come from. He explains to her that his dad used to read him the story, saying to Daphne, "If anyone can find out about the Treeants, it's you." Riiiight. Smaug already pissed me off with some unforeseen shitty romance, so please don't make me relive that horrible, raging feeling again. 'Kay thanks. Daphne eventually figures out that if they somehow plant the roots of the trees back into the soil, they could more easily control them. Yeah, because that wasn't common knowledge. Your plant keeps falling over? What do we do; burn it, wrap ivy around it, beat with sound waves? Uh no, you fucking plant it. Jeez.

Back with the Specialists (And the Winx), we see the guys getting ready to go through this obstacle course. Sky is the first to go, leaving with a questioning remark, "This obstacle course will train our reflexes and our agility." Right, because you haven't like, trained in hundreds of other courses like this when you were at Redfountain. It's this specific course that's going to help you improve. *Grabs logic and throws it out window* AND STAY OUT!

We get back to the Winx, a few of the girls showing off the moves that they had learned; spinning and flipping all about (Seriously, do they like, not abide to the laws of physics, gravity or like, body weight distribution? When you land, you land on your feet. Which means, all the weight of your body will be on your knees, ankles and the soles of your feet; each part trying its best to take in as much of the exerted energy it can, so as to not allow you to injure yourself. I sincerely doubt that I could do some of the shit their doing in my nude, 4 inch (Roughly 10 cm) heels. And I would say that the strongest part of my body are my legs. I've climbed mountains, man. And not just "omg that hill is so steep it must be a mountain" kind of thing, I've climbed the Alps. Yeah, the Winx pretty much say "fuck physics" in this one). After some dude named Nex shows he can do this course, Roy attempts it, Nex kicking the hoop away before Roy could finish; Layla leaving in an angry fit. But, screw that, the plot comes bursting in as Daphne tells the girls how to control the Treeants.

Outside of Alfea, we see all the girls are ready to go (omg blurm is wearing da same outfit frum in da trailurr) Bloom explaining that she and the Specialists will distract the Trix while the others (Including Daphne and Thorin...idk why Thorin wasn't included in the "specialist" category but who cares) go and try to save Miele and her classmates. Musa asks how they're going to do that exactly, a valid question considering only the Mary-Sue herself still has her powers. That's when Flora rushes in, handing everyone a vial of her potions. Once everyone is set and ready to go, Bloom transforms into her Sirenix (Did you really have to show the entire transformation guys), everyone (Except for Daphne, never mind, thought she was going) heading off for Limphea.

Back on Limphea, the Trix explain to the freshman that while they head back to Cloudtower to prepare the ambush, they should stick around to keep an eye on the prisoners. Cuz, ya know, that couldn't backfire in anyway. Miele takes this opportunity to perform a spell on the Treeant, causing magic roots (omg wat roots growing on a tree when will this madness stop) to grow on it; the thing becoming confused, thus letting Miele go. The freshman notice her, and even though there are *counts* seven of them, they don't go after her or even attempt to surround her. She starts flying around a bit, the Treeants swatting at her here and there, before they finally decide to do something; that something not being very successful because all they end up knocking down is a monster. Smooth freshman. In the end, Miele ends up getting bitch-slapped by a Treeant, almost getting squished by it before Flora steps in and uses her potion; their roots becoming embedded in the ground.

When more start appearing, the Winx go through their supplies of potions, all of the Treeants eventually being rooted into the ground. They let go of the fairies, they heading for the freshman witches and essentially kicking their ass' (And what's with all this brutality towards them? I know you were just held by monster trees, but they didn't do anything--it was all the Trix! The freshman were just following the ones with the power, which is what most newbies do to fit in anyways. I mean, they go full out, with even the Specialists attacking them with their specialized weapons. Come on guys, they can't be any younger than those Limphea fairies and are just trying not to get their ass' handed to them for disobeying the Trix. If anything, you should be cutting them some slack! But no, this is deemed for younger children and of course we must try and beat into their heads the cliched "good vs evil" principal).

We finally focus on Bloom and the other Specialists, whom are making their way to Cloudtower to face the Trix. Before they arrive though, lightning starts hitting the group, Sky realizing that the Trix had been expecting them. "No shit Sherlock." (It's what Icy really meant to say guys, no joke) Icy in-turn sends Darcy and Stormy out to keep an eye on the group while she turns to Selina, asking her to release another one of her movie/book rip-offs. And what does she choose? None other than an awesome drag--a flying basilisk? Wh--wha--eUUGUGUGHH. *takes a deep breath* Do you morons understand what a basilisk is? Frankly, you should either sit down and read some Greek books or read the freaking "Chamber of Secrets" because any normal person would understand that a basilisk is a snake, not a DRAGON. Btw that thing totally looks like Smaug from "The Hobbit". Like, really guys.

On the left, Smaug; on the right the flying "basilisk". See any similarities?
On the left, Smaug; on the right the flying "basilisk". See any similarities?

So the "basilisks" fly off (God that pisses me off so much) and head towards Bloom and the Specialists; one of them knocking Brandon off of his bike. Bloom stops the bike from moving (Yeah that's important) while Sky dives down, grabbing Brandon and hauling him back to safety. Meanwhile, a "basilisk" hovers in front of Bloom, literally opening its eyes wider in front of her and nothing happens. You guys do understand what happens when you look that thing in the eyes, right? You become petrified. Get it? You can no longer move. Why didn't this happen to Bloom? Oh wait, never mind--it's Bloom. So Sky tries taking one down with a slash from his sword, but this does nothing but piss them off; the "basilisk" heading off towards Limphea college. The Specialist head down there to help the other Winx, Bloom soon flying forward to deal with the Trix; quickly being greeted by the three witches flying up to her.

Back with the rest of the Winx, the girls try their best to not look--you're looking right at it, aren't you. Okay well, so you've fucked up what a basilisk is already so of course just looking at it doesn't cut it. You have to be touched by fucking yellow beams of "petrifying rays" to become--a stone statue? No dammit, Medusa is the only creature/thing known to turn a creature to stone. A basilisk just petrifies--aka, makes the person or thing no longer movable. They still retain their body, and looks, but then cannot move and will not move until a cure has been administered (Seriously, did you dip shits do any research?). Before Musa and Tecna can become "petrified", Riven flies in (Shouting the name of his move now...okay) and stops the thing from hitting her.

We're then taken back to Bloom's situation, where the Trix start firing a few of their moves at her, they not really doing anything as Bloom blocks them with a shield.

Back with the rest of the Winx, they're trying they're best to make due without any powers. At one point, Stella is stuck under a "basilisk", she finally accomplishing a double back-flip, which conveniently knocks out the monster. We see Flora hide the rest of the Limphea students in a tree, trying to make sure that they are all alright. A roaming "basilisk" suddenly appears, screaming and eventually knocking Flora out of the tree; Miele stepping in and blasting the thing aside (Seriously, these have got to be the weakest monsters ever). But the small victory isn't long lasted when Miele is grabbed suddenly by a roaming Treeant. Flora tries grabbing her but can't (treeant: "lul here ya go...just kidding. here ya go...just kidding."), she resorting to using a rope to swing from its branches, the Treeant throwing Miele loose and her sister saving her just before she hits the ground (This is some Indiana Jones shit).

Flora lands safely with her sister and...just claps, she seemingly knowing that she had already achieved her Bloomix (Even though she wasn't glowing or anything). Thus we see the first transformation of this new power...and god those lyrics are obnoxious. "Da dragon fire is da best yeaah." That's basically it. Summary, bam. After her transformation, Flora uses her powers to calm the Treeants down, they putting their roots back into the ground and returning back to normal.

Everyone thinks that everything is okay, but then another "basilisk" appears, it threatening to turn Layla into stone before Roy and Nex step in, the both of them becoming "petrified". She lets out a wailing and cliched "No" before the episode ends.

All in all, this episode was...eh. It was kind of boring and the whole Bloomix thing is still rubbing me the wrong way. I really think they just keep putting off the next decent plot. Like, really, do we really need to see more of Limphea? No. And these pandemonium things...? *Kamelot's "The Great Pandemonium" starts playing in my head* Please don't play out the others getting their "Bloomix"...just hurry up and do it.

Author’s Note: Hey everyone! Jeez it’s been awhile since I’ve written something. And what is my wonderful excuse? Hue, I’ve been reading/catching up on Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) and basically going out with my friends. Hey, it’s summer, I can have a life now- sorta. But I was really in the mood to write something, and since I’ve been listening and reading to mediums that have been nothing but depressing and dark- here’s the song-fic I prepared for y’all! This one-shot will be about Musa and her feelings towards Riven (I do NOT like this ship, so be warned). The song that I...
