Who do you think should've played Elena if you don't like the current Actress?

I never gave it much thought to who would play Elena if Vampire Diaries were made into a series or movie. I just found out it's coming out this fall. I'm so excited. One thing though, I do not like the actress right now, it's been a few years since I've read the books but I thought Elena was suppose to be blond not brunnette. Am I wrong? This is why I do not like the current actress. If I had to think of someone right now, maybe Nikki Reed. I know she's not a natural blond, but she's gone blond before. Maybe they should just tweak the current actress' hair and make it a little blonder. *Unless of course Elena wasn't really blond*

I'm not sure as to who should play Elena. If I was in charge of finding someone I'd find one that actually matches what she's described in the book for starters! Then I'd make sure that she could copy her personality and the way she speaks, to make her sound and seem like her. i know that she'd never be as good as the real Elena but it would be better. I'd want a nobody to play Elena also, because then it'll be more realistic if u know what i mean.

i dont know anybody in particular but i think she should be blond.....the actress playing elena has brown hair and in the book she has blond.... even the second book has her as a cover

I actually like Nina Debrov as being Elena Gilbert on the TVD show, but i think the actress from glee DIANNA AGRON best described as how Elena Gilbert looked like on the book and they can probably have her wear contacts or something for blue eyes! But then again, its just opinion :)
