I love Damon, but there's far too much hype, especially in the later seasons.

I completely love Damon. He is just so amazing. There are so many moments throughout all the season when people should hate or love him. I pretty much always love him. Everyone says how terrible he is when he kills people but he has killed a lot less than Stefan and yet no one seems to care that Stefan has killed so many people. Damon can control himself and can choose to not kill people but Stefan does it because he loves to kill, he is just a ripper. Damon is my favorite character.

I personally will never understand how someone can like him and I just don't get the hype over him.
