Introducing...the Mysterious Mind Of series! Every article will feature a different TVD character. Yes, I take suggestions for quotes and such. No point in requests, because I hope to write these articles for all the characters anyway. No, I will not be using my shipper mind to write these.
Each article will comprise of
> A list detailing the composition of that character's brain
> Up to 18 scenes that the character was awesome in, including quotes if necessary
> Opinions section that will hopefully be updated with your comments
> Coming up next, so you know which character to expect next
These will most likely lack humor, but they're going to be pretty strange.
Anyway, on to the important stuff!

1. Episode 1x01-"Hello, brother"
What can I say? The guy knows how to make an entrance...
2. Episode 1x02- Damon meets Elena
Elena: Stefan didn't tell me he had a brother
Damon: Well, Stefan's not one to brag
Way cooler than how they met in the books, but his personality is the same.
3. Episode 1x11- The whole thing!
Rescue mission, followed by kidnapping, followed by funny cell phone call, followed by drinking like a crazy person, followed by almost getting killed, followed by ripping the heart out of the crazy backstabbing witch.
Also: "Vampires can't procreate, but we love to try"
4. Episode 1x14- Aptly named
With Damon, you have to live with this in your mind. Fool him once, it's a shame on you, fool him twice and you won't live to regret it.
This was a game changer. In the same episode, we went from "I mean this sincerely: I hope Elena dies." to "I didn't compel you in Atlanta because we were having fun. I wanted it to be real. I'm trusting you. Don't make me regret it."
When it comes to Damon, you know what you're getting- you just don't know when and how you'll get it.
5. Episode 2x07- Locking Katherine in the tomb
The guy has some self-respect! Anybody would expect some appreciation. He tried to get her out of the tomb for 145 years and all the time, she wasn't even in it. Then she strolls in and expects everything to be alright? Not just that, she's also threatening, menacing and everything we love about her. But there's no way Damon's just going to ignore it. No way in hell!
Katherine: You need me. Elena's in danger!
Damon: Then I'll protect her while you rot in hell
6. Episode 2x12- Jessica from the road
This was awesome because he was vulnerable and powerful at the same time...
"I can't be what other people want me to be, what she wants me to be"
*vampface*
7. Episode 2x13- Heart rip
In season 1, Damon was all evil. Then in season 2, he pulls the compulsion trick on Elena. Just when you think he's going soft, this happens.
Elijah: *rips two hearts out simultaneously*
Damon: *watches in awe*
Later...
Damon: *rips out heart of werewolf while in motion
8. Episode 2x15- Damon makes a friend
Damon had some pretty funny lines in this episode, and so did Elijah, but my favourite wasn't said by either of them. It was this one.
Alaric: Hey, I am your friend, damn it. And you don't have any friends. So, no more lying.
I was happy dancing. Because to balance out all the judgmental Carolines and Bonnies and Stefans and Elenas of the world, Damon has a friend now!
9. Episode 2x22- Damon's deathbed scene
Whoever you ship, this was powerful. Damon is making jokes on his deathbed, asking for forgiveness, pushing away the person he loves because he could hurt her. It's so essentially Damon that you can''t help but like him more after this.
"You should have met me in 1864. You would have liked me."
We like you now, Damon. We like you now.
10. Episode 3x02- Of lakes and snark and Delena
Damon threw Elena in the lake. Something that, after 2 seasons of her, we all wanted to do. Don't get me wrong, I love Elena, but she was being stupid going into a forest full of werewolves. Also
"When I drag my brother from the edge and deliver him back to you, I want you to remember the things you felt while he was gone."
Of course I liked that because I'm a Delena shipper, but I also liked it because it means that he has the decency to not steal his brother's girl while Stefan is paying for his life.
11. Episode 3x15- Thank goodness
Elena: If you're mad at me, Damon, you need to get over it.
Damon: Oh, I'm over it.
I like Delena. What I don't like is Damon being a pushover. If Elena does something stupid, he has every right to do something stupid as well, without being judged for it.
You can't expect him to just take rejection like that. There were consequences for Katherine and there will be consequences for Elena because Damon isn't afraid to hit you where it hurts.
12. Episode 3x16- Defan feels and chipmunks
"Whenever you go too far, I will be there to pull you back. Every second of every day until you don't need me. 'Cause right now, you're all I got."
Also:
Damon mocking Stefan! "Dear diary, a chipmunk asked me my name today. I told him it was Joe. That lie will haunt me forever."
13. Episode 3x20- Dalaricness
Damon: Sorry I killed you... twice.
Alaric: So I have to actually die to get a real apology out of you.
It just hit me why season 3 has always felt a little bit off to me- Damon killing Alaric? Twice? Totally OOC! I mean, once, I'd believe. But twice? With this, everything is right with the world again. Such a bittersweet moment in TVD history, and I think this is the first time we've seen Damon face genuine loss since Rose.
14. Episode 3x22- Damon's not selfish. Again.
Elena: Maybe if you and I had met first...
Damon: Yeah, maybe
Damon didn't ever leave Elena with the guilt of his love until 3x14. The first time he told her he loved her, he compelled her to forget. The second time, he thought he was going to die. And now, when he might die again and things could have ended differently, he chose not to say anything. Smart choice. Again.
And then, we got this brilliant flashback.
"You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena."
15. Episode 4x01- Hehehe
Matt: You can't possibly hate me more than I hate myself.
Damon: Yes I can.
I like how Damon never really changes. He's a good person who's done very bad things and he's unapologetic about it. And he's true to that. He's irrational.
16. Episode 4x05- How is he the only smart one?
"Sure, Stefan. Since you asked, I'd be happy to go on a suicide mission with you for a potentially non-existent cure. No problem!"
He raised an important point here. They didn't know if the cure existed for sure. And lets face it, these guys kind of have a history of jumping into things unprepared and it usually doesn't end well.
17. Episode 4x06- Back to back episodes of awesome
He rescues Elena from killing herself. At this point, he's doing this every episode, so why is this one included in my list of awesome?
"You know what they say about teenage suicide... don't do it."
Because he knows how to deliver a line.
18. Episode 4x13- Damon and Klaus
They're actually in similar situations, so it makes sense that they would compare notes. Damon said this to Klaus
"You do bad things for no reason. You do them to be a d**k... if you're gonna be bad, be bad with purpose."
and it made sense. Whatever he's done, he's done for a reason.

Elena and Bonnie were sitting outside the Grill, both having a lemonade, when both their phones rang.
“Bonnie” Bonnie said.
“Hello, Elena speaking” Elena said, trying not to give away anything and hoping Bonnie would be too caught up in her own conversation.
“It’s time” Damon said. “Meet me at the Boarding House. I’ll be in the car” He ended the conversation.
And so did Bonnie. “Elena, I’m so sorry, but I have to go” she apologized.
“Oh?” Elena said sheepish.
“Yeah, I’m having a date tonight” Bonnie blushed.
“Really? That’s great! Who’s the lucky one?” Elena fired her curiosity.
“Ehm, I rather not say. At least not until it’s official” Bonnie said.
“Of course, I get it” Elena said. Bonnie put some money on the table. “See you tomorrow?”
“Yeah, tell me all that happened” Elena waved as Bonnie walked away. The moment she was gone Elena jumped up and ran away as if she was being chased.
