pfff who cares if their gay or not -shrugs-...seriously guys...in the original script they were gay...look it up yourself and quit your complaining. People are free to ship it if they so choose to.
I don't believe that he is in love with Tulio. He mentions the girl in Barcelona and he seemed to like Chel a little bit, which points to the fact that he indeed likes women.
I've shipped these two since I was 6. And yes, in the original script they were going to make them a couple. Reason why they still have the pet names such as Miguel calling Tulio "darling" and they call each other partner all the time. They have more chemistry then most Disney couples.

There was a phase in my life (around a year ago) where I like, really, intensely shipped Migulio, but now I've kinda mellowed down in that I can understand why people don't ship them.
I headcanon Miguel as bisexual and having unrequited feelings for Tulio (at least in the past, if not during the movie events). I also think that Miguel/Tulio has more chemistry than Chel/Tulio.
You guys don't even have proof of them being in love! Other than being best friends, there is no other proof of them being in love! In the move Miguel states that he was sorry for thr girl in Barcelona, plus, Tulio is obviously into Chel. So that proves Tulio is into girls
