The Hunger Games So one day I was randomly reading Hunger Games when I realized that Haymitch reminds me a lot of Han Solo(from Star Wars). Does anyone else think that?

Han Solo is always calling Leia Princess or Sweetheart and has the same sarcastic sense of humor and a tired with life attitude....I don't know maybe I am over analyzing it :P

Ehhh, maybe a bit, but not in any significant way. Haymitch has drowned his hardships, while Han Solo was in it for the money. Two very different motivations.

Mm, yeah, I suppose they are a bit similar in personality. I didn't really like Star Wars all that much, but he was one of my favorite characters from it...no surprise when you consider this. ;)

Now that you mention it, I think that Haymitch is a bit of a representation of what Han would have been if he hadn’t met his friends that built him up so much and taught him not to just be in it for the money. I know there aren’t many Star Wars fans here, but younger Haymitch, from what little we see from his games in catching fire, is basically a carbon copy of the stuck up, pre-hero Han Solo. The only difference is that Han was impacted so much by his friends that he could turn his life around. Haymitch didn’t have that, and his life and will to live we’re going downhill fast until he met Katniss and Peeta. (Idk, that may be over analyzing it a bit but just my thoughts)
