I started the series when The Lightning Thief first came out in Singapore, in 2005 I think, and I'm still a fan. I'm 18 now, so I started when I was 11. I think that should be the average age when people first pick it up, although I checked and apparently the book is meant for 9-year-olds and above. So, it's okay so long as you're nine and above! ^^

By average I meant 11 to 18.

thats what i was thinking when i asked the question. A 21-year old guy reading a book for 9-year-olds does sound awkward lol

^Woah...interesting reaction. You're Singaporean too? fusshi123? If you turn out to be one of my classmates I'll freak. XD

I started when I was around 9 years old, and I'm 13 now, but, my brother, who is now 24, still reads them. Same with my 18 year old brother. And, although my 10 year old brother acts like he's 7, he reads the Graphic Novel (which really isn't the books but...).

Actually when I was in 6th grade, everyone was obsessed with this great series, I was like "I hate books" But went against that and read it. I finished all 5 books in 5 days. A book a day. I read them all in 6th grade when I was like 12 and am almost 14 now

And when I found HoO it was even better. I love greek and roman mythology. My sister olso started reading it. she is 15, so I don't thin they is a age limit.
