I prefer both of them as vampires, but I think Damon was much spunkier than William, I'm not saying I didn't love Spike in his human form, I'm just saying I didn't find him entertaining or remotely similar to the vampire he has become and to the vampire I absolutely love and adore and would like to do oh so many things to ;P

Only saw the pilot of Vampire Diaries so I haven't seen Damon as a human. So I'm going to go with Spike, who is very much awesome and efulgent when was human though a little bit of a wus but I stil love him anyways ^^
