Actor Corlandos Scott
Actor Corlandos Scott
The NBC series “Grand Crew” got off to a funny start when actor Corlandos Scott stepped into the future for the season two opener.

Corlandos has previously appeared on HBO’s "Westworld," Samuel Goldwyn Films "A Cowgirl’s Story," and horror franchise films, "Hayride" and "Hayride 2."

Originally from Florence, Alabama, he earned a Film/Television Production degree from the University of North Alabama and a Law Degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He is still a practicing Attorney, as well as a producer and star of the legal series, "Everyday Law." He is also producing his second film, the comedy-horror "‘Til the Dead Do Us Part."

To find out more, Corlandos Scott answered some FanPop questions:

Tell us about your role in “Grand Crew.”

Corlandos Scott:
I appear during the season opener episode as Noah responds to Simone's marriage proposal. While Noah’s deciding on how to respond to Simone, he contemplates the future that they could have together, down to the son that he’s always wanted. I play Noah’s son, Noah ‘Sax Daddy’ Jr.

What would you consider your characters ‘best’ quality? And their ‘worst’?

Corlandos Scott:
Noah Jr.’s best quality is hands down the love he has for his parents. It also doesn’t hurt that he can play a mean alto sax! His worst quality is that he didn’t quite realize how much his parents had imparted into him until after it was too late to tell them.

Do you actually play the saxophone or was that make-believe?

Corlandos Scott:
I do play the saxophone. I’ve played sax since I was in 7th grade. I actually played my sax during my audition – I was comfortable interacting with the sax and I think that factored into my being cast as Noah Jr. Unfortunately, that wasn’t actually me playing in the scene. We tried to have me play, but you’ll recall that young Noah Jr. banged up the sax pretty badly. By the time I got the saxophone on set, it was so badly banged up that I couldn’t get out a single note.

Any interesting stories from the set you can share with us?

Corlandos Scott:
Several people say I that look a lot like another one of the show’s characters – Anthony, played by Aaron Jennings. After one of the takes, Echo Kellum (the actor who plays Noah), looked around and said “is it just me or does he look like Aaron? Don’t tell me Noah’s wife cheated with Anthony!” Everyone cracked up and said they were thinking the same thing.

Were you already a fan of the show before you landed the role?

Corlandos Scott:
I was a fan of the show. I hadn’t watched the entire Season 1 when I landed the role, but that gave me a great excuse to binge the episodes that I hadn’t yet watched. I’ve been a fan of Phil Augusta Jackson’s since I first saw his work on “Insecure,” so being on a show that he produces was special to me.

What’s the biggest lesson you learned from working on this show?

Corlandos Scott:
My biggest lesson was that you can have fun while being professional and efficient on set. Mo Marable directed the season opener, and he kept the shoot moving like a well-oiled machine, but everyone was smiling, laughing, and having a good time all the while. The most challenging part of the episode for me was that my character is in tears while standing by his dead parents’ bedside. It wasn’t easy getting to that place during the takes while cracking up at my fellow cast and the crew during takes. But I wouldn’t change anything about the experience.

And, now just for fun:

Who’s your favorite actor/actress?

Corlandos Scott:
Denzel Washington & Viola Davis

What role from the past do you wish you could have played?

Corlandos Scott:
It wasn’t a huge role, but it’s one that I’ve always regretted not getting. When I was kid I had the opportunity to play one of the children of Samuel L. Jackson’s character in “A Time To Kill.” My parents thought that the subject matter was a little too heavy for a kid my age, so they didn’t let me move forward. That one still stings because I’ve always wanted to work with Samuel L. Jackson.

Favorite movie or TV show from your childhood.

Corlandos Scott:
“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”

Tell us one thing that would surprise our readers to learn about you.

Corlandos Scott:
I used to be a Nuclear Reactor Operator—like Homer Simpson, but in real life.

How can fans keep up with you?

I bet about half of you are already planning on eating me alive or feeding me to a polar bear just for the title. You don't have to read this. You can turn back now and just pretend you never saw it. No one will ever know. =P

The Lost/Walking Dead thing just kind of popped up in the early hours of the morning when I was trying to get to sleep. I started writing stuff down, wondering if it would make sense when I was fully conscious. It did. So here you go - a rough list of similarities between characters from The Walking Dead and Lost.

Notes: Most of the Lost stuff applies more to the early...

In a seemingly ironic twist this summer, NBC decided to air a scripted show about a group of reality show contestants.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you haven’t been watching “Siberia.” It’s got all the crazy antics we’ve come to expect in a reality show, plus the character storylines we love from our scripted programs.

Rising actress Irene Yee portrays “Irene” on this “Lost” meets “Survivor” drama, which airs its season finale on Monday, September 16th. Throughout the 13 episodes, Irene and her fellow contestants have battled the elements and each...
