how do you think swords have on modern history.

swords are more of a colectors item, like a 1964 classic car it's not used for the original purpose but more as bragging rights, it could be used as a self defense weapon but not against guns. some of the ideas used by the swordsmen of the days of old are still used by peopple today, i study bushido and my brother studys chivalry. the book of five rings writen by a japanese swordsman is still studied my the military today.

i think that people misunderstand them, people now dont even buy them as weapons much anymore and yet governments still insist on placing restrictions. in Missouri you cant own a sword longer than 5 feet, it doesn't make any sense when you think about it.
