Sam and Dean should find some way to kill Lucifer and stop the Apocalypse. (What we're all wanting, right?) Then they should get married, have kids, and live happily ever after.
Sorry, I usually go for the Disney version of a story- you know, the happy, fairy tale ending.

Totally love this ending... xD...but the end should have cas so where is he :P
Wel i think Supernatural will end by Dean and Sam killing Satan with the help of Castiel and then they will live normal lives get married have 2 or 3 kids at the end of season 6. Castiel will go back to heaven but still keep watch on them incase he tries to break out of hell again

^^ i agree with the predictable but satisfying happy disney ending....did you mean s5 or in general?? cos i havent seen s5 so i cant say but for the whole thing i agree with the whole happy getting married ending....but i dont know if they should quit hunting and be normal or carry on, because they want both in a way :) x
I think in season 10 lucifer and Michael should escape the cage some how and cas dies trying to prevent it but inevitably Sam and dean both realise its has to come down to them both saying yes to them being used as vessels and it will end in an epic battle between the 2 arch angels with Michael victorious obviously with the final scene just to give it a happy ending you see dean and Sam both living it up in heaven
so i've been thinking about this since i saw a tumblr the other day about how the show should end (and as much as i dont want it to, all good things...) i digress... THIS is how it should end:
*a man's hand closes a book on his lap, we see the title is Supernatural*
*cut to kid in bed* "Awww dad... seriously??? thats it??? but sam? ... and dean???"
*cut to dad (who happens to be ... dun dun dun... Jensen)* "Sorry kid that's it... that was the last book in the series"
*kid who crosses arms somewhat angrily* "oh fine"
*Jensen* "Get some sleep kiddo we got a big day tomorrow" *kisses forehead*
*kid* "k...night dad"
***scene***
-next day-
*mom (or a friend suggested Misha?), Jensen and kid walking to a park with a picnic basket... look out to see big group of people milling about a "Family Reunion"*
*kid runs toward group* "Uncle Jarod!!!" *hugs* "we finished the story last night... it sucks its over"
*Jarod* "yeah? well... all good things must come to an end... grandpas waiting to see you..." *nudges kid toward Jeffery Dean Morgan who stands near Jim Beaver (SIDE NOTE: did anyone else realize everyones name starts with a freaking J???)
"Grandpa! Uncle Jim!" *hugs all around*
Jarod, Jensen, and mom(misha?lol) join the group... lots of laughs and hugs and hand shakes...zooms out to group ... some familiar ;) ;) faces... zooms out to see car in parking lot (is that... is that the impala?) omg what??? this whole time its been a dad reading a story to his kid who is putting in the faces of all the people he knows and loves... WHAT????
In the first, both brothers (and maybe Cas too, if Misha is still there at this point) die heroically while saving the world.
The second would be a reflection of the end of season 5 (since that was originally written as a possible permanent ending). One brother would die saving the world, the other would retire and go to try to live an apple-pie-life because that was his brother's last request. Maybe it'd be Dean dying and Sam surviving, so not to copy season 5 completely.
I can't imagine a happy ending, not with all the angst and deaths they've had so far. It'd be totally out of character with the story. And I don't think it'd end with them just continuing hunting without it being shown, because that doesn't have enough closure.
