The Best Viewing Order for a Star Wars Marathon

The much publicized upcoming link got me thinking about the optimal viewing order for the Star Wars saga. The logical approach is to view the movies in episodic order (which is how Cinemax plans to air it). But I'm not so certain that this is the best way to watch Star Wars.

What follows is a rundown on the only four *viable* ways to view the Star Wars saga that I can think of. Sure there are other viewing orders, but these are the only ones that make sense from the standpoint of storytelling and continuity.

Here goes:

Method 1: By Order of Episode

Stormtrooper 69: *Turns around* Hey, what are you doing?
Salope: Crossing the river. I'm trying to get back to my farm, over there.
Stormtrooper 53: That farm's been abandoned for years. You're under arrest for trespassing.
Salope: *Swings her bag, and knocks out a stormtrooper*

It was a dark and stormy night in Naboo. Rain was falling down hard as lightning strikes flashed nearby, followed with the sounds of thunder.

Imperial Officer: *Slowly walking back and forth, making sure the Stormtroopers load everything onto the Star Destroyers* Not long now, just keep it moving!

So Luke, Leia and Lando Headed for Tatooine. It was a such a ways out from other star systems. It was not even part of the Republic.

Once they reached Tatooine they knew they could not just barge into Jabba's Palace. Luke remembered where Ben's old house was beyond the dune sea. They went there to change into clothing and armor that would disguise them.

Then Luke headed back to the Dagobah system while Leia and Lando headed for Jabba's palace. " Please Hurry back Luke. I don't want anything to happen to you too...by the way, is something wrong. You look so shocked and scared" asked Leia worried...

A fleet of Rebel ships were close to the planet of Sullust. Inside one of the Mon Calamari ships, pilots were preparing their X-Wings. Other ships were carrying Y-Wings, and A-Wings.

Wedge: *Gives a high five to a Y-Wing* We're gonna do just fine.
Y-Wing Pilot: I copy red leader.

They both chuckled, and looked at a pilot in green.

Y-Wing Pilot: Must be one of the pilots for the new A-Wing.
Green-7: Hey. Ready to go?
Wedge: Yeah, you let me know how those A-Wings are. I might try one myself.
