What is the point of Particle Shields if Ray Shields can repel Radiation, Blaster Bolts AND Solid Objects too?

Aboard the Invisible Hand, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi & Chancellor Palpatine are trapped by Ray Shields. Why can't they just walk through the shields?

My understanding of the 2 types of shields, was that I can't SHOOT through a Ray Shield & I can't PUNCH through a Particle Shield. What's going on here?

My personal answer (may not be totally accurate) is that the ray shield seen aboard the Invisible Hand was either a certain/special type of shield that can just deflect anything, or that shield is actually a mislabeled particle shield. Not sure. Look it up on Wookieepedia. Maybe it's actually the other way around. Good observation.

Yes, solid objects can pass through ray shields, but ray shields also emit high amounts of voltage, making them fatal to most living things.
