"What do you expect in a Sonic Game?"

only 2 things
1. sonic
2. super transformation

Well for me it's:
1) SONIC IS A MUST! But if he isn't the main character then he should be at least in it. (but this has only happened in Shadow the Hedgehog the Game)
2) Music that I will remember, and lots of it (it's the reason I didn't like Sonic and the Black Knight because the music was GOOD and it suited the setting of the middle ages, but there was nothing that stayed in my head like all the other music from the games do).
3) Stages that are interesting to look at with a nice theme and not too easy but not too difficult either (I LOVE Eggmanland's Day Stage music but the XBox360 version of the level was almost neverending, so I wouldn't like the levels being too long or short either).
4) Good plots. Nothing that bores me but nothing too complicated because then that confuses you.
5) Bosses. As with the levels, not too hard but not too easy. And make sure that there's a good amount of them, I don't like games where they go on Boss Overload but I don't like games that lack them (unless the game is challenging enough as it is).

And that's all I can name for myself. Voice actors don't bother me, unless they're God awful at the role they're supposed to be doing and their acting skills make you question how they got the job. Playable characters are a nice addition. While Sonic is the main character and speeding around awesome levels at high speed is cool, it's nice to take a break from it every once in a while with a different style of gameplay and playing as another character (unless the other form of gameplay hasn't been done up properly and feels horrible to play as).

I Expect a Beginning and an End. :3

1) Chao to take care of like in SADX
2) free open area to roam, not pressured to get to the end as fast as you can
3) Secret Chao eggs
4) good graphics and easy controls
