The ABCs of Shoot, Zimbio’s March Madness Winners
During the Final Four round of Zimbio TV Couples March Madness, we played a game on Twitter asking Root & Shaw fans to give us the ABCs of their OTP. We’ve gathered some of your best suggestions to celebrate the lovers and their incredible win during this year’s competition. Check out the ABCs of Shoot below, then hit the comments with your own suggestions!
Apparently ass-kicking goes hand in hand with snack time. There was that brilliant moment when Shaw beat up the “highly-trained operative in a bad suit” as Root crossed off a fruit serving from her daily food pyramid. Multi-tasking at its finest.
We’ve seen Root take on a bevy of unique, albeit high brow jobs. This was a new low, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. Paws up.
Root always has Shaw’s back. In the most adorable, subtly overprotective way possible. Whether it’s a simple hand gesture or a verbalized “be careful,” we all could learn a thing or two about caution from everyone’s favorite computer hacker.
Shaw is a physician, which is why she was able to diagnose herself as someone who suffers from a severe personality disorder. Ironically, she’s better at killing people than fixing them. Is there a medical school for assassins?
It’s pretty much a staple for every episode, particularly in scenes with Finch. What can we say? Our girls are frequently disappointed with the actions of others.
Whether it’s understated or in your face, it’s always there. It seemed like we wanted letter K to happen forever. And when it did, it was oh so sweet.
There are so. many. of. them. Seriously. If we had to put money on guessing one of Shoot’s favorite songs, it’d be female anthem “Bang, Bang” featuring Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj.
Zip ties’ twin sister. POI teaches us that there’s no point tying someone down if you can’t put a hood over their head and torture them some more.
Because who can forget the scene where Root nearly burned Shaw’s chest off? The path to love can get quite heated.
We’ll never sound this cool when introducing ourselves to a bad guy.
And an amazing one, at that. Highly-anticipated, full of passion, but extremely tragic before it led to Shaw’s apparent demise.
Shoot fashion staples to make the all-black wardrobe just a little bit more fierce.
The source of controversy for the entire show. M could also stand for morality, as we are constantly forced to question whether or not something of this magnitude violates our basic human right to privacy.
After Sarah Shahi announced that she was pregnant with twins, we thought her character was going to be killed off the show for good. Being shot in an elevator after exchanging heartfelt moments with Root was both jaw-dropping and heartbreaking.
We knew it all along, but it was even more amazing when they verbalized it themselves. And when Shaw finally figured it out, despite her reluctance to embrace human emotion.
They ask a lot of them. It makes sense, considering the uncertainties of their jobs and loyalties.
Talk about an emotional journey. The evolution of their relationship is beautifully captured in this fan video:
Shaw + Root = Shoot, which fans affectionately call the power duo. Check out this awesome video that rounds up every time the word is mentioned.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. One thing’s for certain, when guns fail, these are the girls’ weapons of choice.
Thanks to the almighty Machine, you have someone something tracking your every move.
More than 3.5 million of them. Enough to crown Shoot as this year’s winners of Zimbio’s March Madness Challenge! Yay, fandom.
It’s like the wink has become part of Root’s permanent nonverbal vocabulary. Anything to make her appear more mysterious, right?
When are we not waiting on the edge of our seats with bated breath? After Shaw was shot multiple times, it’s clear that anything can happen.
"…that’s good enough for me." One of the series’ most memorable quotes. *Tears*
Only Amy Acker could find a way to turn this scene into something erotic. Who needs handcuffs?
Whatever we call them - they are WINNERS! Totes deserved! So loved not only by fans but the entire show’s cast and crew alike! That’s the BEST thing ever!
The incomparable Amy Acker & Sarah Shahi brought the Root & Shaw pairing to life. And THAT, ladies and gents, is all about chemistry. Natural chemistry.
