Why the heck do people compare Twilight and Harry Potter. the only thing they have in common is an actor?

Well, they both sold millions around the world, and that goes for the books and the movies, but more than that, they both deal with a totally different world, where mythical creatures are completely normal. I guess you could say they are a similar genre, but I think once you've read them both...I dont know, now that Ive read all the twilight books and love them, harry potter seems very immature, or for younger kids to read. Hope this kind of answers your question lol.

I guess they get compared to each other, because they are both very popular books/movies.
And everyone wants to see which one everyone else loves best.

i guess because they`re both very popular books and movies and they both deal with a mithological world but other then that they dont have much in common i mean harry potter sarted as a kids book that grew alongside it`s readers while twilight was oriented for teenagers since the beggining

They really shouldn't compare cuz the only things they have in common is that they have lots of fans and the books were turned into movies and Robert Pattinson...

They are nothing alike... I mean vampires... and wizards... no... and Twilight is mostly Romance... i think Harry Potter is sort of like Adventure isn't it??? and I like them both but mostly TWILIGHT... I think HP got kind of boring...no offense and I liked the movies better than the books so yea...

I think Twilight and Harry Potter Fans try to compare them to see who has more fans but...IDK =)

Both are billion dollar selling books.

Both harry potter and twilight are about mythical happenings & they are both bestselling books. If u really look into it they actually have a lot in common. Plus People are seeing how many fans both saga has. I know I've been persuaded from harry potter over to twilight.
