HEY GUYS SO THIS IS THE SECOND CHAPTER SORRY FOR THE HOLDUP IVE BEEN BUSY WITH LIFE LATELY….:P.
Rigby played “Dig Champs “ for a couple of hours, but it wasn’t as fun without Mordecai. So Rigby went back upstairs to check on him and see if felt any better. He scampered over to Mordecai’s bed. The blue jay’s chest was rising and falling. You could hear the congested sound of his breathing. He decided to wake him up so they could eat a late dinner (it was 9:00pm) and then just go to bed, because Rigby really didn’t have anything to do. Mordecai was a heavy sleeper, so he always had to be gently shaken awake.
Rigby: “Mordecai, Mordecai…”
Mordecai slowly blinked awake. He sat up with his arms behind him, and resisted the urge to groan. The full body aches that occur with the flu had started, and his whole body hurt.
Mordecai: (coughs into the crook of his arm, the sound is congested and painful, and Rigby flinches slightly, Mordecai clears his throat ) “ Hi, Rigby”
Rigby: “How do you feel, man?”
Mordecai’s face was pale and there were dark shadows under his eyes, so probably didn’t feel that great, but at least his head wasn’t throbbing anymore.
Mordecai: (hoarsely) “A little better. My head isn’t throbbing anymore.
Rigby: “You want something to eat? You probably should eat something if your sick.
The last thing Mordecai felt like doing was eating, but if he wanted to feel better he would have to eat something. He tries to get up, but his spindly bird legs wobbled under him. Taking off the blanket made him feel very cold, and he resisted the urge to shiver, so that Rigby wouldn’t notice, but he did anyway.
Rigby: “Mordecai, why don’t I get you something to eat from downstairs, and you stay in bed?”
Mordecai honestly did not like the idea of staying in his bed and having Rigby bring him something, because he hated to depend on other people , but he also didn’t feel he could go all the way downstairs , because he felt SO cold and weak, and if he did that then he defiantly wouldn’t feel well enough to eat something. He felt like he wanted to eat something simple that would go easily down his throat, like some soup. He remembered seeing some canned chicken noodle soup in the cabinet just the other day, and he (somewhat reluctantly) asked Rigby for it.
Mordecai: “Alright. Could you get me a can of chicken noodle soup, please?”
Rigby:”Sure, man.”
Rigby scampered down the stairs microwaved the soup, and brought it upstairs, while Mordecai struggled to stay awake. Man, he felt sleepy. He had always been a heavy sleeper, but this time he honestly felt like staying awake was like holding his breath. He managed to stay awake until Rigby brought the soup upstairs, and he thanked him and drank in silence. Rigby went downstairs and had a tv dinner of mac & cheese with steak, and then went upstairs and read a video game cheat book for a few hours until he finally decided to go to bed. He brushed his teeth and curled up on his trampoline.
(the next morning)
Rigby woke up and stretched. He glanced at the alarm clock on Mordecai’s bed stand. It said 8:25a.m, almost time for him to wake up. He scampered over, turned off the clock, and tried to wake up Mordecai. He might as well try to eat breakfast.
Rigby: “Mordecai, Mordecai. Wake up, man time to eat breakfast. “
Mordecai woke ant sat up in bed. He really didn’t feel like eating, and if he did he felt like he would throw-up.
Mordecai: “I’ll eat later, man. I’m not hungry.”
Rigby’s little raccoon ears drooped with worry. Rigby had always been a bigger eater than Mordecai, but if he was too sick to eat, that was something to worry about. Oh, well. He could always pursue the chance later.
He got ready and went outside to see Benson and ask him what he needed the little raccoon to do. He found the humanoid gumball machine in front of the garage where Skips the immortal yeti on golf carts.
Rigby: “Hey Benson, reporting for work.” Rigby tried to sound as cheerful as possible, seeing as his best friend was sick and he was going to have to work alone.”
Benson started talking before he turned around so he said:
Benson: “Mordecai and Rigby, I need you two to…. (turns around and sees that it’s only Rigby) Where’s Mordecai?”
Rigby: “He’s sick. I told him to stay him home. “
Benson: “Wow…Mordecai never gets sick…it must have been hard to convince him to stay home, wasn’t it? Mordecai never lets himself get defeated by mortal illness….”
Rigby: “ Ha ha yeah……”
Skips: “ What does he have?”
Rigby: “I don’t know..probably the flu or something.”
Benson: “ Well, Rigby, that means your on snack bar duty alone today. And since Mordecai’s sick I want you to check up on him.”
Rigby: “OK”
Rigby groaned inwardly. The snack bar would be so boring without Mordecai, but no use complaining. He ran to the snack bar on all fours, and took he place standing and waiting for customers. After a few hours it was time for his break. He ran over to the house to check up on Mordecai. He found the blue jay asleep. He was pale and sick-looking. He seemed to wake up as Rigby walked in.
Mordecai : (weakly)” Hey, Rigby.”
It occurred to Rigby that he hadn’t checked if Mordecai had a fever, and he placed his paw on Mordecai’s forehead. Mordecai normally would have resisted, he hated having other people take his temperature, but he was so sick and tired, and he realized the gesture was out of care, so he bit his tongue and went along with it. Rigby’s touch felt cool and refreshing, and that’s when he realized how warm he felt. Mordecai did have a fever though, his forehead was almost hot to the touch, and he was drenched in cold sweat. Rigby’s little ears again drooped with concern.
Rigby: “Aw man, your burning up, Mordecai.”
Mordecai had fallen asleep again. Rigby decided he would take his friends temperature, so he went to the bathroom to get a thermometer form the medicine cabinet. He then saw there was none, nor was there any fever reducer, so he would have to go to the pharmacy on the next block.
He went over to check with Benson, who said it was ok, and so he scampered off to the pharmacy. He prowled through the store until he found the “Cold/Fever” isle, and he walked through, looking for a digital thermometer, until he bumped into some girl.
Rigby and the girl: “Oh, sorry!”

"What the... CJ?" Mordecai says in disbelief. "No, I'm not Cloudy Jay, I'm her BFF, Cloudy May. When she told me about what you did to her on the phone, I got so mad. And you're dating this... red chicken?" the cloud yells. "And you had to get me on Couple Corral!" Mordecai says to Rigby.. "Wait!" says Rigby. "How far is it to the arcade?" "About five minutes, WHY?" says Eileen. ""Destroyer of Worlds!" says Rigby "Are you crazy? That thing almost made Rigby Roast out of you and you're releasing him!"
