Why is meebo chat no longer there?

Hi, it's been a while(around 2 years) since I have logged onto fanpop. I've noticed meebo chat is no longer here. Could anybody answer when and why the chat was removed?

I feel like fanpop should have a chatroom. One where everyone can go and talk to eachother.
