Lets see how long we can keep the chain going

I'm going to post a word. the next person has to post a new word that is one letter away from my word and the same length. there's no letter shuffling, only changing. no reusing words. nobody posts twice and lets try to keep it free of swearing.

example:
me: foot
next person: loot

(the next person could not say tool because that's changing two letters or switching letters. they could not say too by changing the L and leaving off the T)
