I tend to say the reason why I hate said person instead. The word Hate doesn't really mean much of anything these days unless you support it.

...So, continuing, I think it's strong when it's used out of context, and that is 99% of its use, sadly.

It's both 2 stong and too strong. That's why you rarely hear someone actually say "I hate you" out loud.

It depends on the situation and whom you're talking to, but most of the people will feel offended if you'll tell them you hate them.
Some people, like me, aren't offended by the word 'Hate', but then again it depends...
