You care enough to ask me but I'm too selfish to tell you.
You care enough to ask me but I'm too selfish to tell you.
I do recall mentioning this:
that of all the sports I have tried
running and jumping hurdles
did not sit well with me.

I simply cannot keep up with you
for your pace quickens after every hurdle
even as they get higher,
you seem to pass over with ease.

I really want to keep up but alas
I realized that you are stronger than me,
smarter than me, braver than me,
then it was made known to me: I had no chance.

I just want you to be happy
and see the smile that first captivated me
the smile you make whilst doing what you've wanted,
even if it meant leaving me behind.

Someone once said,
"Success is about moving forward"
while conquering every trial
and learning from them…

I'm happy that you're successful,
I'm happy that you're happy,
I'm happy that we've met,
and it would make me happier if you looked back.
Even if it was unintentional, it still hurt.
Even if it was unintentional, it still hurt.

Stuck
Alone in my prison
Tongue bitten to hold
my screams
Smile worn to conceal
my fear
Free me from
this deep abyss
Save me from
this Lunar Eclipse
Take my pale
shaking hand
Collapse my
bindings to this
petrifying land
Frantic
the walls are closing in
Heart beating slowly
so slowly
Pull me from this
cave of sorrows
Please I want to
see tomorrow
Take my pale
shaking hand
Collapse my
bindings to this
petrifying land
I can
pull at my hair
I can
claw at the ground
I can
yank on my chains
I can
cringe at the sound
of the crying souls
I don't wanna join them
I need your help
Will you take my pale shaking hand
and collapse my
bindings to this
petrifying land

In science we learned about the Higgs boson,
In social studies, economics;
Math taught me trigonometry
But to me they all make more sense
Than do you

The mass of all your electrons
Does not add up to your essence –
Your smile in the summer,
Your eyes in the night,
The freckle below the corner of your left eye

And I heard once that maybe there were a billion Big Bangs
And only we survived –
I think it’s because the universe
Couldn’t bear to part with you

For as my fingers intertwine eternally with yours
And the cells of our bodies make love
I kiss that freckle and taste your matter –
The taste of infinity and rain –
And see that I don’t have to understand your composition
To love you as I do

your mood is like a thunderstorm,
it causes pain, but it seems so warm,
the destruction you cause fills your life with flaws,
it doesn't seem right for you to loose this fight,
you deserve much more after the fragile heart i tore,
the tornado is coming, preceded by the humming,
the humming of sorrow,
as you fear to face tomorrow,
your life is filled with dread,
and on the inside you are dead,
you have held the anger inside,
the tornados coming we need to hide,
your rage breaks out from under,
like the rubble of the thunder,
it carries on through the night,
this lightning keeps flashing so bright,
through the flash i see you are crying,
the second flash shows the dying,
has the world around us colasped,
or is this just a relap,
but now the storm has come to a stop,
perserverance came out on top,
you stayed alive despite the pain,
but i fear the loss out-weighted the gain.

A peaceful world would be nothing like the world I see in front of me
There would be no worry about what’s going to happen to me
By doing things as a community we make things available to the
Community. Graffiti washes, car washes, etc.
That’s what I could do as part of the community.

As an individual in this world I see in front of me
There I stand and see chaos right in front of me I stop it, it’s like the whole world froze
And it’s nothing but me stopping what I see right in front of me
I close my eyes
The vision I see is nothing like what is in front of me
There are people laughing, having...

I feel lost,
I feel so different,
I know everyone around me,
but I don't seem to know any of the faces I see,
I don't know if it's just my hallucinations or my daydreaming,
I just don't know and yet kind of don't care,
I'm different from everyone and they judge me,
I know I'm weird, strange, and crazy,
But that's one of the great things about me,
I'm different and I'll deal with that my own self,
I'm not a typical popular girl,
but I'm not a backstabber either,
I'm a special different than they say,
I'm my own self and I love to be different,
Make fun of me cause know I don't care
I'm different and I love that because I don't
wanna be the same, I don't want to go with the flow,
I'm not like that. It's okay to different and I am.

ALONE

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Annie Lennox (2007)

fingernail moon
up in the sky
come out and see me
see me sometimes
'cause i'm here alone
stuck in the blue
no distance between us
between me and you
i've got nothing to hide
i've got nothing to lose
you'll be by my side
c'mon tell me the truth

elegant moon
you cut like a knife
it does me no favours
to stay out of my sight
suspended like glass
all ancient and new
all of space lies between us
between me and you
there's no need to be shy
there's no need to be scared
i need you tonight
come on out if you dare

i'm just a girl with my feet on the ground
i'm just a girl with my...

You never know what you have until you lose it, and once you lose it, you can never get it back.

My heart was taken by you... broken by you... and now it is in pieces because of you.

Love is like falling down... in the end you're left hurt, scarred, and with a memory of it forever.

You're the one who broke my heart, you're the reason my world fell apart, you're the one who made me cry, yet I'm still in love with you and I don't know why.

A million words would not bring you back, I know because I've tried, neither would a million tears, I know I've cried.

Wanting him is hard to forget, loving him...

The Grave said to the Rose,
"What of the dews of dawn,
Love's flower, what end is theirs ?"
"And what of spirits flown,
The souls whereon doth close
The tomb's mouth unawares ?"
The Rose said to the Grave.

The Rose said, "In the shade
From the dawn's tears is made
A perfume faint and strange,
Amber and honey sweet."
"And all the spirits fleet
Do suffer a sky-change,
More strangely than the dew,
To God's own angels new,"
The Grave said to the Rose.

Be quiet and more discreet, O my Grief.
You cried out for the Evening; even now it falls:
A gloomy atmosphere envelops the city,
Bringing peace to some, anxiety to others.

While the vulgar herd of mortals, under the scourge
Of Pleasure, that merciless torturer,
Goes to gather remorse in the servile festival,
My Grief, give me your hand; come this way

Far from them. See the dead years in old-fashioned gowns
Lean over the balconies of heaven;
Smiling Regret rise from the depths of the waters;

The dying Sun fall asleep beneath an arch, and
Listen, darling, to the soft footfalls of the Night
That traits off...

Chronicle

The lyrical stylings of nationally acclaimed poet Kevin Brian Wright of Glendale have romanced even British Queen Elizabeth II herself. The poem Wright composed for the queen in 2008, entitled “O’ Blessed Nightingale,” is today displayed as a personal keepsake of her majesty in Balmoral Castle. Reading the lyric, I imagined that Elizabeth had cast her regal person as that blessed nightingale for whom “the thunder…trembles, / When she beat her majestic wings in flight / Composing that choral symphony that softly serenades / The tranquil night, with that melodious...

My nostril smells awesome inside of my nose,
a bit like the bloom of a newly-picked rose.
It started this morning--I couldn't say why--
and all day it's smelled like banana cream pie.

It has the aroma of freshly-baked bread
with hot melted butter and blackberry spread,
and maybe the breeze of a warm afternoon,
that follows a thunderstorm early in June.

It smells like a pine forest, right by a lake,
and chocolate chip cookies my mom likes to bake,
like kettle corn pop-popping over a fire,
and laundry, the moment it's out of the dryer.

My nostril smells awesome, so I have a plan
to sit and enjoy it as long as I can.
Don't ask how it happened; I really can't say.
Perhaps it's my finger that's smelling this way.
The monochrome scenery in the dead of night
A pearly-white mist to blind your sight
Immortal chains to bind your soul
Immortal chains to set your goal.
Silence has set upon your life
Bestowed upon you like a cursed knife.
You must have knowledge through and through.
The Second World is haunting you.
Let your sorrows be set in stone
Carved down to the edge, to the skin, to the bone.
Let your sorrows be put to rest
And let them guide you along your quest.
I'll dance with you inside layered light
On jewels and gemstones shining bright.
You must have knowledge of what to do.
The Second World is haunting you.
