Peter Pan Question

Not wanting to be rude or anything but.......

Is Peter evil? I have Heard rumours that he is... that he's for an example killing lost boys if they grew up. Is this true?
Please answer every time I bring up Peter my friends sigh and says that I need to grow up and that he's just a character from a book. I wanted to ask someone and to get answers that's not like my friends answers...
