Athena is a virgin, she can't have kids like Artemis. The only reason Rick said that Athena did have kids like Annabeth was so we could read about smart and powerful children, and to cover his tracks he said that the children are made the same way Athena was, burst out of the head of Zeus or Athena. So it is possible that Ares and Athena could have a kid in the world of Rick Riordan, but not in Greek Mythology.
