Once Upon A Time Question

did Rumple really lose his memories during the first curse before Emma arrived?

After seeing "Welcome to Storybrooke" and "Saving Henry" when we see storybrooke before the events of the pilot, when Regina is talking to Gold, I couldnt help seeing how it looks like it's possible Gold has also always remembered and only pretended not to. In "Saving Henry" when he says "you put your child first" when Regina tells him to help her find a baby he looked like he was thinking of Baelfire. I don't know. It kinda makes sense to me that he would've also always remembered since he was the creator of the curse.

No, Rumple never lost his memories when the Dark Curse was first cast.

A) He was the creator, though..
B) If I remember correctly, part of Rumple's deal with Regina when he gave her the curse was that he would be able to remember who he really was.

He could have very well already written it into the curse so that the creator and the castor would remember their alternate selves while everyone else forgot, but possibly not.

When Snow and Regina were enacting the Dark Curse again, it seems like they would have remembered everything until Zelena threw in the spice that caused them to forget the past year.

This could just be inconsistencies, or maybe Regina had to throw in a specific ingredient so everyone but she and Rumple would forget everything except their new identities.

No, he never made any deal with Regina to remember who he was. He just said he wanted a good life and she said "You'll remember none of this" then he said something like it doesn't matter.

Ohh. Yeah, it's been a REALLY long time since I've seen season one. haha. I should probably go rewatch it. But then that doesn't make sense.. Because Regina often goes to Gold for advice since he DOES remember. Like when Regina adopts Henry and then finds out that Henry is the son of Emma, the daughter of Snow & Charming, she goes to Rumple and yells at him for arranging the adoption so she ended up adopting the Savior's son, doesn't she?

Yeah but he says he doesn't know what she's talking about. Maybe when she even says the word "saviour" it brings his memories back but he defo didn't have them at the start. He wasn't his "Rumple" self.

I dunno. He could have very well been pretending, which would be like Rumple. I'm convinced that he did still have his memories, but was pretending he didn't. I think they would have made a bigger deal out of Rumple's memories being brought back if he had lost them at whatever point he regained them, like if it had been when Regina said the word "savior". They would have focused more on the moment, because it would be quite a turning point in the plot.

No, he never lost them. I think everything wouldn't make sense otherwise:)

No he would only remember if he drank a potion remember. He created the dark curse and he still had to drink one when Snow cast it.

No. He created the curse so of course he would make sure he wouldn't lose his memories.
