In the original tale of Little red Riding hood, is there a character named Peter?

Purely a coincidence. I looked it up on Wikipedia and there was no Peter in Red's tale anywhere. But... it does mention a man named Peter Stupp. Straight from Wikipedia: "In 1589, Stumpp had one of the most lurid and famous werewolf trials in history. After being stretched on the rack, but before actual torture commenced, he confessed to having practiced black magic since he was twelve years old. He claimed that the Devil had given him a magical girdle, which enabled him to metamorphose into "the likeness of a greedy, devouring wolf, strong and mighty, with eyes great and large, which in the night sparkled like fire, a mouth great and wide, with most sharp and cruel teeth, a huge body, and mighty paws." Removing his belt, he said, made him transform back to his human form." So he was a wherewolf... I don't think THAT'S a coincidence at all.

I don't believe so, but there is a story called Peter and The Wolf which could be where they got it from.

There is a story called Peter and the Wolf.... I'm assuming they blended the two fairytales... kind of like Rumplestiltskin and Beauty and the Beast
