Once Upon A Time Question

does anyone else feel kinda sorry for regina when henry constantly shuts her out?

i know she's the evil queen and we're supposed to hate her but i cant help but feel sorry for her how henry is hardly showing any effection especially when she gave him the cool portable video game and he didnt look too appreciative. i feel that she truely does love him even though she's evil. if she is constantly cruel to him i wouldnt feel as bad but unlike the evil stepmother from cinderella and hansel and gretel, regina is actually expressing love for henry. i know i shouldnt feel sorry for her cause like i said we all know she's evil but again i feel she's truely showing affection for henry and i feel it would hurt any parent or step-parent when the child doesnt return the love. i'm really still going through mixed feelings lol

I'm torn because I do feel bad for the fact that Regina does love her son and she does try to show him that she cares, but if you pay attention to the relationship Henry has with Emma it's very different. Emma doesn't have to try to buy Henry's affections because there's no need to because he knows she does, whereas Regina I think sometimes she doesn't know how to spend time with her son or talk to him so she tries to buy his love with really nice gifts which I think was why he was unappreciative. I think Regina does love her son, she just doesn't know how to show it. I hope I didn't offend any of you by saying this, this is merely my opinion.

Yes, I made a picture about that and posted it on tumblr; It honestly annoys me how Regina is so nice to Henry; buying him nice toys trying to win his affection, yet he still hates her so much and completely disregards her love. I love the kid, but his attitude towards Gina makes me angry. He takes the fact that he is living in a nice mansion rather then a foster home for granted.

Totally agree! I wish he was nicer to her. At least she wants to love him.

There have been times when I felt like Henry was being unfair to Regina, but in the end I think he acted that way because he knows who she really is. She killed Graham, imprisoned Belle, made Rumplestiltskin think Belle was dead, sent children to the blind witch, killed her own father, had Snow's father kiled, and did a million other things. For a long time I thought that maybe her actions came from desperation, but more and more I think they are just selfishness. Maybe I'll change my mind again after we see more of her backstory, but for now I just feel sorry for Henry having to grow up with someone like that.
