lets jst say he was ressurected. He died after the demon got extracted, but then Grandma Chiyo use a special jutsu that allows her to give life on people dying, but in turn her life is sucked out, when she performed the jutsu she didnt have enough chakra after battling wit sasori her grandson. So she ask naruto to give her some chakra, and so gaara lived again but Chiyo died.
