It was 10 PM as all the ponies taking part in the Cannonball Run prepared to make their start for the long trip to Los Angeles.

Host: Well let's go over a few things before we begin. As you probably already know, there are no rules regarding anything. Drive whatever you want, wherever you want, and how you want. The fastest run time is currently held by a pegasus named Rainbow Dash. And before you ask, she did not use her wings to transport herself.
Crowd: *Laughing*
Host: She did the run in exactly 25 hours with a Dodge Pegasus Hellcat.

Victor was waiting at his ambulance, still waiting for JJ to arrive with a doctor.

Victor: Come on J, today would be nice!
JJ: *Arrives* Victor!
Victor: Where have you been?
JJ: Looking for a doctor like you asked.
Victor: Any later, and I'd have to leave without you. So where is the doctor?
JJ: Right here.

At that moment, an organ started playing for only five seconds. Victor was scared to see that the doctor was a crosseyed stallion with a messy silver mane.

Victor: This pony is a doctor?
Doctor: Nopony's died from my work yet.
Victor: Yet?
JJ: He was the best I could find in such short notice.
Victor: Never mind, get him in the ambulance, and let's get on our way.

As they were preparing their ambulance, the other racers were getting ready to start. A 20 year old stallion in a 2005 Foallari 575 Super Equestria was the very first contestant to pull up to the start clock.

Ponies: *Cheering*
20 Year Old Stallion: *Clocks his ticket* I'll see all of you in Los Angeles! *Drives*
Ponies: *Cheering*
Apyr: Well? Shall we go?
Sergi: I don't see why not. We want to get a good spot ahead of the others.

Donald, and Geena were watching the racers from a distance.

Donald: Okay, let's try this again. When the cars go past, and I announce their license plate numbers, you write it down on the notepad. Don't get distracted by any trees, animals, or anything!
Geena: I-I didn't mean to.
Donald: Sure you didn't mean to, now listen to the numbers. *Looks in his binoculars* Ida, X-Ray, 4. 9. 9.
Geena: Wait, I thought there were only numbers.
Donald: Well write down the letters too!! Here, here's another one!!! King, Robert, Adam, Paul?! Why that guy oughta be ashamed of himself!
Geena: Why? They're just names.
Donald: He spelled out crap with a K!!

Twilight Sparkle pulled up to punch her ticket.

Judge: You're not gonna go very far in that crappy little Comda.
Twilight: Watch me. *Clocks her ticket, and drives away*

Kevin was next to pull in. He was still impersonating Con Mane as he wore a fancy suit, and pulled up in a 1963 Alfa Romaneo.

Kevin: *Hands the judge his ticket* Would you mind?
Judge: *Punches in Kevin's ticket* You know, you should put your headlights on.
Kevin: Why advertise? *Takes his ticket, and drives off*

Back in the ambulance.

JJ: Well Victor, we're on our way.
Victor: Yes sir, we're gonna leave Connecticut, and all those other ponies far behind! *Turns on his sirens, and goes over 80 MPH*
Bubba: *Driving a yellow RAM*
Drake: Well, this feels nice, doesn't it?
Bubba: Absolutely. I just hope we can finish this in time for my next race.
Drake: Look, will you quit worrying? Everything's gonna be fine. Once we win, we'll have everything we need.
