Labiche delivered the engine to Rive-Reine.
Labiche: *Stops the engine*
Schmidt: You're late! What happened?
Labiche: We were shot at by a spitfire, a couple of miles back.
Schmidt: Any serious damage?
Didont: Not enough to stop you from getting to Germaneigh.
Labiche: *Brought his bicycle with him on the train. He takes it with him off the train, and gets ready to ride away*
Colonel Von Waldheim: *Looking at Labiche*
Labiche: Your engine, and your crew.
Colonel Von Waldheim: Was it your idea to risk this engine on the daylight run?
Labiche: Major Herren was following your orders. He told us to come here immediately.
Colonel Von Waldheim: I admire your efficiency Labiche, and your sense of survival. I don't suppose you have much trouble with saboteurs, do you? Tell me Labiche. Do you think there will be sabotage attempts on this train?
Labiche: I'm a railroad pony, not a prophet.
Colonel Von Waldheim: Prophecy is not required. This train will get through to Germaneigh. You agree, don't you Labiche?
Labiche: What do you want me to do Colonel? Give you a guarantee?
Colonel Von Waldheim: I'll settle for a partial guarantee. You Labiche. You drive the engine.
Labiche: Your engineer has been assigned. My orders are to return to Vaires.
Colonel Von Waldheim: *Walks to the engine, and looks at Didont* Stay with the engine. Keep steam up. *To Pesquet* You can go now. You're not needed.
Labiche: Colonel, I don't want to be the engineer. I haven't been asleep for two days! I'll fall asleep on the controls!
Colonel Von Waldheim: You will leave at 7 O' Clock. I think you should rest until then. *To Schmidt* Take him to the hotel. *Looks at Labiche* He is to stay there until 7. Sleep well.
Labiche: *Walks towards his bicycle*
Schmidt: *Stops him*
Labiche: My bicycle.
Schmidt: *Looking at Pesquet* Your new transportation to Paris. *Takes Labiche to the hotel*
Pesquet: *Gets on the bicycle, and looks through a station window*
He saw a grey unicorn wearing a station master's uniform. That was Maurice. The pony Labiche said he would call in part 8 of this story.
