Although I do think there are other great animation studios out there - Studio Ghibli for instance is always amazing - I think Pixar generally produces very high quality films and they have set the bar for other studios. For me, Pixar and Studio Ghibli are the only animation studios that have consistently produced films that I enjoy both for the story and the art.

I can only reccomend to see The Pixar Story movie, to see how they actually inovated everything in animated movies. And for that I really admire people, who work there. It's the fact, that they came with something new. And I have to say, that although I like animated movies from other studios too, Pixar never really dissapointed me. I haven't seen all their movies, but the ones that I've seen, like Toy Story series, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, Up, have became one of my favorites animated movies.

nothing will ever beat Disney animation though, and the critics do need to stop comparing. Thats stupid and unfair. Too much ass-kissing going on from critics to Pixar

I don't think Pixar is the best animation maker in the industry - others like classic Disney, Miyazaki-animation are just as good. However I don't think Pixar is 'overrated'. It deserves the credit they've been receiving IMO.

It deserves credit, but other movies don't need to be compared to it when they are being critiqued. Maybe I worded it wrong. And getting Oscars some years when other movies were way better ( last year Wreck it Ralph or Frankenweenie should have won not Brave), both of these facts show that PIXAR is indeed overrated at times, sometimes too much.
