Zombies are about to hit the link

To be more specific, Henry Hobson’s zombie thriller, link will premiere at the fest on April 22nd before hitting select theaters and VOD on May 8th.

Actor link tries to keep order in this post-apocalyptic tale, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a father struggling to care for his infected daughter, played by Abigail Breslin.

I recently caught up with Brett Baker to discuss “Maggie” and some other fun stuff.

Tell us about your role in the zombie thriller “Maggie.”

BRETT: I play a military officer responsible for enforcing the town’s curfew. During an evening patrol, I discover a woman who is out past curfew. Her strange behavior leads me to interrogate and take her into custody.

What would you consider your characters ‘best’ quality? And their ‘worst’?

BRETT: He’s a very good leader, but extremely impatient.

Did you work with either of the film's stars?

BRETT: Interestingly enough, on most of my film and television projects I always work opposite a star, but on this film I did not. It comes with the territory. Sometimes you’re in the spotlight and sometimes you’re fulfilling the writer’s narrative. I’m ok with both.

Any interesting stories from the set you can share with us?

BRETT: The day we shot my scene the heat index was 115. I guess it was one of the hottest days in Louisiana history. We were shooting outside (in the sun) wearing full military uniforms. I was trenched. I remember thinking to myself, “if I can just make it through this heat, I can make it through anything.” I’m happy to report I made it through the day without fainting. Not bad for a kid from Anchorage, Alaska.

Are you a fan of the genre or would you rather be working in a comedy?

BRETT: Yes I am a fan of the genre. I like Falling Skies, The Walking Dead and World War Z. I love all the special effects. Comedy is my favorite genre of all though. I love to make people laugh. The art of comedic timing has always fascinated me. I feel so blessed to be working though. I try and embrace every opportunity that comes my way.

What’s the biggest lesson you learned from working on this project?

BRETT: The director Henry Hobson, originally called me back for the role of the doctor. This is a larger, more substantial part than the one I was cast in. I believe that everything in life happens for a reason. With any collaborative effort, it’s easy to let your ego and pride get in the way of the bigger spiritual picture. I do my best to trust in God and go where He leads me.

And, now just for fun:

What’s your favorite food?

BRETT: My vote is for breakfast…a good Southern breakfast. Pork chops, eggs over-easy, grits, country potatoes and biscuits with butter and honey.

Cats or dogs?
BRETT: I’m definitely a dog guy. I have the coolest black and white Shih-tzu. Her name is “Gracie Lulu Pea-Pie Baker.” That’s her full name. She’s my best friend, and I love her more than anything.

Favorite movie from your childhood?
BRETT: Tough to name just one, but I’ll go with The Deer Hunter.

Tell us one thing that would surprise our readers to learn about you.
BRETT: I was Leonardo Di Caprio’s body double in Titanic.

How can fans keep up with you?
