Movies Question

I love scary movies, but lately all I've been seeing are crappy ones - is there ANY good out there nowadays? Suggestions?

I suggest the classics A Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, Halloween, or Friday the 13th and the others if you haven't already seen them :)

They're the scariest horror flicks out there, in my opinion.

This is a general question. If you tell me exactly what kind of scary movies you like/don't like I could give you a bunch of recs! For example: do you like gore, supernatural, or just general horror that messes with your head?

Hm, movies that mess with your mind...The Strangers is a really good one! It's about this couple who goes to a secluded house and gets stalked by these really creepy people in masks. A few other fun ones are The Others (which is more of a ghost story and not that gory), High Tension (extremely gory, but a real big mind-messer!), Saw movies (of course typical, but I have to respond with it), The Descent, Soul Survivors, Sleepaway Camp. Those are just some of the ones I thought of!

I frankly love any kind of scary movies, as long as they're good and keep me interested. But I guess if more specific, I'm more of a horror type - the kind of where it's just really tense. But really, I like any type so ANY suggestion would be OK :)

Someone said 'The Unborn' was good, but I haven't seen it. You could always rewatch the really good old ones: Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, ect. :)

you MAY find these films worth while or you might not, but they are suggestions.
1. The Grudge (definitley freaked me out even though i KNEW IT WAS JUST A MOVIE!)
2. Halloween
3. The Amityville Horror (true story)
4. Psycho (a classic)
5. The Blair Witch Project
6. From Hell
7. An American Haunting (true story)
8. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (true story)
9. The Exorcist (1972)
10. Identity
11. Wrong Turn
12. The Hills Have Eyes (watch the first film was the best. the 2nd film i hated.)
13. The Devil's Rejects (REALLY GOOD! but a bit sexual, graphic when it comes to violence. and tons of cursing and stuff like that. so you make up you're mind about that.)

and if you've already seen most if not all of these then I'M SORRY.

I agree with the person who said go with classics, and also I suggest going for independent movies if you're looking for newer ones. The indie movies made nowadays are usually a lot scarier and better than the big budget ones.

As far as classics, I like Nightmare on Elm St.(the original), Rosemary's Baby, Pet Semetary, and The Omen.

Newer ones: Hostel, Rest Stop, The Fourth Kind, Orphan, The Descent, Saw (the first one), The Ring (the first one), Cloverfield, The Mist, and Funny Games, and The Grudge (or there's a Japanese version called Ju-on).
