Maris didn't know what to say in regards to Michael's question for the reason this was her first date with him, and things were moving a bit too fast. Michael looked at her intently with anticipation waiting for her response, he changed the subject inquiring about her modeling career and future goals while taking sip of his glass of wine.

"Well, I'm been in the business since I was 14 years old, I was discovered by Vito Garibaldi, an up-and-coming photographer at the time, and I posed for a series of photos, and he submitted them to Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, " she explained as Michael listened intently. "I really like you a lot, Michael," she said, "but things are moving a bit too fast for me." Michael apologized and proceeded to tell her how he felt about her. Staring at the necklace he'd given her, it was most beautiful piece of jewelry anyone has ever given her, and she didn't want to admit that she was having strong feelings for Michael given the way he treated her like a lady in all due respect.
