For nearly 20 years, Neverland Ranch was Michael's home, place where can go to relax, a haven from the the media, home he made for himself and two former wives; as well as, his two step-children an his own children, also. Michael purchase the 2,700 acre estate for a whopping $17,000, 000 after it was rented for the filming of the 1983 music video, "Say, Say, Say", back in 1988. That's when Michael learned about music publishing from good friend, Paul McCartney subsequent to telling him how he purchased Buddy Holly's music catalogue;in addition to giving Michael pointers on how to obtain the rights to other people's songs, which later vex him in years to come. Neverland was a place for children, who very ill, to visit with Michael and enjoy themselves for the duration of their stay, and his would assist them in any way necessary. Michael made numerous renovations to the estate; in addition, to adding a private home movie theater, a zoo, a private train station, and his own amusement park, too. Neverland was Michael's home until the Tom Sneddon and his crew decided to virtually attempt to tear it down a wrecking ball due to the same ten-year allegations made against to the entertainer while he was away. For duration of his at the ranch, he's hosted the weddings of his two close friends, Mikos Brando and Dame Elizabeth Taylor, hosted a summit meeting alongside first wife, Lisa Marie Presley, back in 1995, he's had big name entertainers such as good friends, Marlon Brando, Gregory Peck, the Carter brothers, Nick and Aaron, fellow child star Macaulay Culkin and actor/comedian, Chris Tucker.
