cowgirlfromhell picked 90's, even better:

Lamb of God, Pantera, Machine Head, Opeth, Nightwish, Down,...... the list goes on.
80's and oo's are good too. Most of the bands in the 80's were still playing in the 90's and even 00's and the 00's are good because most bands in the 90's are still playing.
