It was hard being a new kid at a new school. It was even harder when that new school also turned out to be your new home. He had had his identity and family stripped from him in the span of a day and now was having to attend classes as if neither had...

About a year had passed. Mello was now a loner. He had no friends and liked it that way. They were all just lying assholes anyway… He and Matt were still roommates but they didn't talk anymore. Matt had tried for a while but eventually gave up. So the room was always filled with tense silence. Until today that is. Mello stormed down the hallway, shaking violently. He could feel everyone's eyes on him which only made him feel worse. He just found out that the new kid, Near, was now above him in every class. How? The last class had finally started. Thank god. Mello just wanted to go to his room and sleep. This whole ordeal had taken a toll on him. As he watched all the other students file in, he suddenly scowled seeing a familiar face. Matt... Ugh, of course he would have a class with him! That smug little sleaze ball. He just hoped he didn't pick a seat next to him and tried to pretend to be taking notes as the brunet walked by, trying to avoid eye contact. "Hey, its you!" Just his luck. He was spotted anyway.... Months went by and Matt began to be more tolerable. He wasn't as noisy and annoying as Mello had originally thought and the two even began to hang out some outside of classes and their own room. Mello had to say, he actually kinda liked Matt. Though he still wouldn't admit it out loud. Today he was studying in the library with Linda but she seemed very distracted. It got to the point where Mello finally had to ask, “Everything alright?”
