Love Question

What is Love?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for a while now and everything has been ok. A couple of days ago this boy who knows me and my boyfriend asked me if my boyfriend had told me he loved me. I answered with a truthful no. When I asked my boyfriend why he hadn't told me he loved me he told me he didn't know what love was. He said "Everyone talkes about love but what is love really? What is the actual definition of love when applied to a relationship?" He got me thinking and now I want to know....what is love? What is the actual definition when applied to a relationship?

My boyfriend's sister sent him a survey about love for her master's thesis. I think he gave a really good response for this question. Hopefully it helps!

What does LOVE mean to you?
Love is the word to describe a relationship between two people that has infinitely many connections. Love is an emotion that one feels towards the person who makes their life complete in such a way that they never expect or want to be seperate from that person again. Love describes a connection between two
people when they become one.

Have you ever been in love? How did you know?
Yes. I knew when I realized that the purpose of my actions outside of
her were to get back to her, and with her the purpose was to make her happy. I knew when the question of whether not we'd want to spend time together when we could went away, and became a question of what we would do together once we had already gotten together. I knew because I knew that every single action of mine, was an action of ours.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
