in love but cant get him to like me

tell me what is this asking, telling and all? is this being in love? first getting committed, proposing and then breaking up in no time! think about that. and unlike you mentioned in your question you CAN'T get anybody like you, and no one can get you to liked by you. It is the matter of fact, matter of time and a bit matter of luck.
and honestly, trying to impress, portraying yourself different than your real image just makes you dishonest to yourself. whats the use?

It's kind of difficult to sort of get someone to like you, but I do not mind helping you to at least give it a shot to see if he has feelings for you, because you will never know until you try. As a guy I can say that most of us are very private with our emotions and even if we like you, we don't show it so do not give up hope and just give it a shot.

I suggest you talk to him, as a friend first and find out what you both have in common. You should put yourself out there as well because I believe that you do have some skills that you do very well. A very good ice-breaker would be asking him to teach you something he can do, whatever that maybe. Guys can never turn down a request to share something they like with a girl.

Then once you get to know each other better, ask him out with a group of friends and talk to him. Take time to do it in private, and in time, pluck up the courage to just ask him out with you 1 on 1. Take him somewhere you like and explain why you chose that place. This makes him feel that you were willing to go out of your way to share with him something you like.

Continue this and start to open up on your feelings, by this time, you should be able to detect how he feels about you. If not tell him how you feel. If he likes you then great, but if he doesn't tell him that you do not want him to freak out but you could be friends. I'm sure if you are honest he will respect you.

The most important thing in this is to not lose confidence. Nothing good in life came easy. You have to be strong enough to put yourself out there and to give it a shot, no matter what the outcome. Because I would rather you try your best, than not to try and regret in the future.

I'm sure you are a nice person, so show him that and hope for the best :)
