Don't worry about the graduating thing for now. Instead you should try forming some sort of connection with him. When your eyes meet, try smiling at him and see if he smiles back. Slowly translate that into a conversation. Just go up to him and say Hi. Then maybe ask about school and how classes are going and such. Starting small and building up is the key here. Break the ice and slowly ease your personality into it so he can see that you are a gem.

Once you 2 are closer, start talking to him more but this time open up more. Share with him your feelings, your likes and dislikes and watch how he reacts to it. Usually when you open up to someone and if they are comfortable around you, they would do the same with you as well. This is the key in forming a deep emotional connection, after you developed that simple connection before.

Once that is done maybe ask him out, in a group first, this will ease the nerves and also allow you to talk to him privately on a few occasions. After that ask him if he wants to spend some time with you, just you, and keep it simple maybe a dinner and a movie (it isn't cliche, because with a little creativity it can be a mind-blowing date) and then see if that emotional connection progresses into a romantic one.

I know this will take some time and right now with him graduating you are running short of it, so my best advice would be to really seize the moment and talk to him and try to develop a connection. Leave an impression so he will remember you, that way it is sort of like a short-cut enabling you to do the other things quicker.

During the parts where you open up to him and really talk, is when you would find out if you really do like him, or maybe your feelings weren't that of love, but just attraction. Do take note of his feelings and the way he acts because it will be a good measure of how he feels and acts when he is with someone romantically.
