How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back? There are some things time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep that have taken hold.

The Hobbit: Can someone tell me WTH is Legolas going to appear in the movie?? Actually, the first time I've heard Orlando Bloom was going to be in it, I thought that he was going to play Thranduil's role -after all, he was his father-. But Legolas?? He DID NOT appear in the book!!!. Love him, really, but still can't understand it... Hope they won't arruinate the story...

To be honest, it makes sense that Legolas would be in Mirkwood, considering it is his home. Remember, they are making two 3 hour movies out of one relatively short book; they will be making some additions. I personally don't see this as a bad thing - I trust Peter Jackson enough that he will not ruin it. I also like his choice to involve a secondary plot (which does occur unmentioned in the book) of Gandalf joining the White council to drive Sauron out of Mirkwood. Of course he is going to try and fit in as much as he can but I'm sure these additions won't be making any mojor changes to the plot.over a year ago
You probably already know about this, but for those who don't, it's great fun!
Go to Google Maps, click "Get Directions, " set it to "Walking" and search for directions from The Shire to Mordor. Read the message that comes up in the yellow box!

Does anyone else agree Eyowyn was cast wrong? she is supposed to be really pretty but her forehead's about a mile long...and what is with her eyes?! No offence intended.

And she had BRAIDS. I know it's nowhere in the book, but... SHE HAD BRAIDS. I always imagined her with her hair braided. EOWYN HAD BRAIDS.over a year ago
Who wishes Tolkien had writen a book about all of the main charectes childhood? (such as Pippin and Merry as little boy hobbits or Legolas as a little elf) :D

Toward the end of the Fellowship of the Ring, after Frodo puts on the ring to escape from Boromir, he hears a voice telling him, "Take it off, take it off! Fool! Take it off!" Later in the Two Towers, when Gandalf returns and appears to Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, Gandalf tells them that "almost the ring was revealed to [Sauron], but I had a hand in stopping him from discovering it." Does anyone know if Tolkein meant that Gandalf was the voice Frodo heard urging him to take off the ring?

I ahted that too but they were then able to introduce Arwen more into the movie and make her more involved. I love the relationship between Aragorn and Arwen it's so perfect and helps add romantic interest to the non-nerds lolover a year ago
I got to see Fellowship on the big screen last night with an orchestra playing the soundtrack live on a stage below the screen - it was incredible!

"You know, Legolas isn't just the sex appeal. He also is a beast when it comes to killing stuff. So, if you think about it, he's more like a sexy machine gun..."

I have a question for anyone who read the books before they saw the movies: were you happy with the movie's interpretation of the character's personalities? :)

Yeah, I like doing the too! But I'm planning to do the same with all the Harry Potter movies once the last DVD is out and that will take much longer!!over a year ago
I pre-ordered the extended versions of all three Lord of the Rings on Blue-ray a couple of months ago, with the set release date of June 28th (I think) from Amazon. I'm going absolutely insane, I don't know if I can handle a couple more weeks. I can't wait to see it on blue ray on our HD home theater system.

I was relieved when I knew Peter was going to for sure be involved with filming/directing. I would except no one else. And the great thing is, a lot of LOTR cast will be making cameos, being 60 yrs or so before Bilbo leaves Frodo. Gosh, i am soooo excited!over a year ago

I know this is slightly off-topic, but I heard that Viggo Mortenson might play the huntsman in Snow White ... who is *probably* going to be played by Kristen Stewart.

First lines Aragon says in every movie. "You draw for to much attention too yourself Mr. Underhill!" "There pace has quickened, They must have caught our sent" and (note this line is from the Extended version of Return of the King) "Show yourself"

You know what's really fun,at school if you play dodgeball or some other sport you scream "for Rohan!" or "for gondor!"and you pulverize the other team. It's really fun,I did it myself! And yes, my team won.

Haha, I used to go to this summer camp when I was younger, and when we played the 'spiders and flies' game and I got caught by one of the spiders, I would scream: "AHH SHELOB'S GOT ME!" and then I would lie down and imitate Frodo. xDover a year ago
Believe it or not, I've never actually seen any of the LOTR movies or read the books. But I'm going to watch the first movie tonight. ^^

And now at last it comes, You will give me the Ring freely, In place of the Dark Lord you will set up a Queen. And I shall not be dark, but beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night! Fair as the Sea and the Sun and the Snow upon the Mountain! Dreadful as the Storm and the Lightning! Stronger than the foundations of the earth. All shall love me and despair!
