I was reading link article and thought it was an interesting topic.

I think that yes, the accomplishments of the LGBT community should be taught. All other advances in civil rights are taught, so LGBT advances should be as well. It's discrimination to not teach it.

And anyway, kids need to know. I believe kids should know the struggle for equality that LGBTQ people face so they can understand. You can't just pretend that the fight for equal treatment isn't happening.

About significant historical accomplishments in civil rights as well as lgbt people that are accomplished in their fields: for example: Martina Navratilova, Elton John, etc...

I think I'm the only one in school who has talked about LGBT rights & accomplishments... which is why I got awfully teased at last year. Many talked about topics regarding LGBT as well but all of them are centered on banning & not allowing same sex marriage.

My school is raided with homophobia. Once you stand up for the LGBT, you'll experience a whole lot of hell for the rest of your school days. It's very heartbreaking to be the only one who supports the LGBT or at least to be the only who who isn't hiding that fact.

Of course, that's part of history, and it's important not to exclude people because of their sexuality

LGBT should be taught in health or something, so more people grow up understanding it.
