I don't believe in the "gay gene" because, let's say a gay man and a lesbian had children, then at least one of their children would probably be gay. I'm interested in the "Big Brother Effect", where a guy is 33% more likely to be gay for each other brother he has. It's due to the mother's immune system and hormones, etc. My uncle has two older brothers and he is totally metrosexual.

I think sexuality is influenced by people surrounding the individual...

@SouthParkSmart i a have to agree with your theory. I'm gay. I myself have 5 brothers. My dad and my mother both have 4 brothers each aswell.

I think it has something to do with '' Life Experiences '' to some extent. With finding who you really are, yes.

But its always inside you, Sometimes you just need to express yourself and '' experience '' things per say.

Totally disagree with you @Lolerz25 (no offense intended.) You have to find who you are on your own. Or your not being real with yourself. Im glad i did. I have some killer friends who helped me yes, But '' influencing '' someone and being their for them are totally diffrent things.

I think that people are born with their sexuality. I do believe that perhaps if someone had a really bad experience with the opposite sex that it's possible that they could try to be with the same sex because of that, but they would eventually realize it's not who they are.

I think it is a combination. Personally I believe homosexuality/bisexuality/transgender is like a recessive gene....so that explains why straight people have LGBT kids. However, I also believe environment plays a factor in early life. It can't be all hormones or all genetics, I reckon it's a combo. But I believe genetics play a bigger role than hormones.

I have my doubts genetics or life experiences could even come into it (life experiences might be able to influence a person to assume they are a certain orientation at most, but I don't think it could determine their actual orientation).

I'm not really sure if anything influences or even determines it as such (not hormones either, considering an asexual person can still have a high sex drive) but if anything then I think it's most likely something in the way the brain works, or whatever it is that causes us to fall in love with an individual.

Pretty sure it's something to do with genetics. Everyone on my mom's side of my family, male or female, is attracted to girls.
