Self proclaimed music snob here! Anyone who's talked to me on the LLT will know my music taste... vintage! And, not only is this a shameless axcuse to get you guys to listen to it, but every time I'm playing a certain song, I can't help but think "Damn, this'd be good in an LP vid." Now I suck at making them, so here's the next best thing! And in the spirit of the season, my Christmas gift to you, is the gift of music! I zipped the files, put them on megaupload so they're yours for the keeping! Oh, and at the end is a little song to remind you of me... non LLT members... looong story. OH, and another song about How I feel about the LLT... you'll see.
I want your love - Let's break the walls between us
Don't make it tough - I'll put away my pride
Enough's enough I've suffered and I've seen the light
How very LP. I'll break the walls between us. I always felt that in Season 5, there was a sort of wall between them... and not just manface. There was too much history... they didn't know how to be friends properly ("He's not good enough for you") and they never had any amazing friendship scenes like they did in Season 3. Same could be said about Season 2... the wall that Luke had spent so much time breaking down was back up. But in the I don't Hate you Scene, it was as though Luke was trying to reconnect, not just apologise. He was, in a sense "Putting away his pride" and had "seen the light;" he would always be in love with Peyton Saywer.
Bell Bottom Blues, Eric Clapton. Songs like this make that old proverb true -- Clapton is God. It's about unrequited love in it's purest form <33. Not only is it a great little tune, but damn it is LP. The lyrics on the banner I just posted: Figured they were a little more literal for LP.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.
I'm sure we're gonna meet again,
And if we do, don't you be surprised
If you find me with another lover.
Figued those ones were kinda self explanitory with the banners...
I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.
With Layla, by Eric Clapton, it's not so much the song as the story behind it. Eric Clapton was in love with his best friends wife, and the two had an ongiong affair behind his back. The friend (George Harrison... he popss up in a bit) couldn't care less, but regardless, beautifull song with beautifull intentions. Clapton wrote it for her (Pattie Boyd, model) and this was the song that made them fall in love! Their story kinda reminds me of LP... replace the song with his book, add a bit more agnst and poof! Looks like Stephen Hawkings books aren't Mark's only source of inspiration
Two worlds collided, and they could never tear us apart
Do I REALLY need to explain this one?
Then, as it was, then again it will be
And though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea...
I’m never gonna leave you. I never gonna leave
Holdin’ on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin’ on, ten years gone
Led Zeppelin's "Ten Years Gone:" Replace the word "ten" with "four" and poof. Peyton's feeling towards Luke in season 5. And yes, I'm reusing banners... what of it?
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
The first line in particular... it's like they're always within reach of what they want, but never quite seem to get it... particularly in season one. This could be interpreted in a different way: No matter how far they are, their long distance in s5, Luke always being busy in s6, they're still so close. Also, Luke said the title in his proposal.
We're just two lost souls
Living in a fish bowl
Year after year
Season two... awfull season, awfull hair... just AWFULL! Only upside is I get to use this song. Two lost souls. Lost without eachother? In season 2, Peyton said she lost herself. The fish bowl... well, same school, same town but completely ignorant towards another. Roger Waters wrote the poem about his former bandmate Syd Barret. The band lost Syd... they couldn't truly save him from the drugs or himself. Luckily, Lucas called Jake, saving Peyton.
Theres no time for us
Theres no place for us
What is this thing that builds our dreams yet slips away
From us
But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Similar to "Nothing Else Matters," it's as though the world is againts them, but they managed to get through it. The "But touch my tears..." but reminds me on 316... how Peyton was so fragile, and all she wanted was a moment with Lucas... aww
You think you lost your love,
...
She says she loves you
And you know that can't be bad.
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad
She loves him yeah, yeah, yeah! After all the CRAP he put her through, she loves him! And you know Luke should be glad... ooooh!
Try to see it my way,
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on?
While you see it your way,
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone.
They were both too fixated on their own ways to comprimise in season 5. If this had been playing in the background of the hotel... I bet they would have talked and worked it out!
I'd gladly lose me to find you
I'd gladly give up all I had
To find you I'd suffer anything and be glad
To be honest, I just put this in cause it's a really nice song... beautifully sung (go Rodger Daltrey) and awesome drumming by the late Keith Moon. I guess it could mean they'd give up anything for the other... heck, Peyton even sacrificed Lucas to make him happy! Selfless love at it's finest.
SO, Merry Christmas, enjoy the songs and... rate high =D link Don't worry... the site is Virus free
