It is a sweet way to tell that other person that you care about them very much. <3 It also makes the person feel good about themselves, and you two as one! :)

It's the perfect way to express your feelings for someone besides telling them you are in love with or love them. I'd actually say kissing is better than asking someone on a date but I understand those who says it's the other way around :)
