Another horror movie is new on the slate of films starring link this year. And what film is that? link. Some may ask what makes this film different from the other horror flicks. The answer to that question is the present day story line backed by true events that kids in their early twenties will find themselves caught up in. Yes, it's another Prom Night esque film but it's a whole new concept. It's a story so interesting link is rumored to jump on board. Another unique factor about this story is the pre-existing relationship between cast and crew on this film. Gordon joins producer link and actors link and link on a new adventure after the possible fallout of their previous film back in 2010. For a while, many believed that the match-up might not happen, but Gordon along with a few A-List actors the production company has yet to disclose is now confirmed to star in the suspense thriller The Cabin At The Lake. If you throw your mind in a tornado and send it spinning back to November of 2009, you might recall that there once was a plan for Gordon to star in the film, Into The Darkness which Joel Bender was considering as his next directing job. But time passed and the film itself never debuted but Gordon along with Moser, Weber, and Russo, attached to the same film, continued forward with their careers to great success. Russo revealed his killer instinct in The Donner Pass. Weber made his debut as one of the lead actors in Zombie Drugs. And, Moser climbed the ranks in the industry writing feature films and started a production company in California called link to helm new projects such as link starring link.
Just as Adam Sandler, Tim Burton, and Robert Rodriguez tend to use the same actors and crew in the majority of their films, it seems No Limit Entertainment is following along on that same trend, and why not? It shows a sense of comradery and brilliant work on camera to see a cast and crew that make the film as natural and real as possible. Its great to see a twenty somethings crew such as Gordon, Moser, Russo, and Weber come out of the woodwork and bring something new to the film industry in Hollywood.
Jade Moser’s script is inspired by true events. The synopsis starts with May 2010. The end of senior year. Prom night. A group of friends rent a cabin at Arrowhead Lake for prom determined to make it the best party weekend ever. But their decision to isolate themselves miles away from civilization turns dire. Their perfect retreat soon becomes a nightmare as the friends begin to disappear one by one. With a turn of horrific events, the cabin turns into grounds for massacre and the seniors find themselves in a terrifying struggle to survive the weekend.
Assuming there are no other bumps in the road, Jade Moser will begin calling the shots this summer in Los Angeles for Gordon's new film. Her other feature, link, films in June. She helms the film as executive producer and has Weber attached along with actors link and Christian Lake. I hope to see the trend stay alive and see Gordon and Russo jump on board to complete the cast.
Kiowa Gordon was last seen in Breaking Dawn and will next show up in The Projectionist and The Lesser Blessed before Breaking Dawn makes it's round two.
