This *blog* has been a long time coming, since the beginning of last month, but a lot has been going on and I have NOT had the energy to write. I don't know why, but for some reason this always takes a lot out of me. But...here goes. I'll try to keep it short in words, since this is pretty picture heavy. I don't like to have things too tl;dr.

My boyfriend and I adopted a new cat from the Humane Society (it's where we get all our pets, except Calleigh who I got in another state). He's always wanted a "void", basically a black cat that blends in so all you see are its eyes. There was one I wanted to see and one he wanted to see. We met both and both were very sweet, but we felt like one needed us more than the other one did. His name was Spooky, and of course I hated it so I tried to come up with horror-related names for him on our way home and I personally really wanted Nosferatu because he also does kind have fangs but then my bf said he couldn't pronounce that (*LOL*) so I thought about Georgie, the sweet little boy in the beginning of IT. He reminded me of Georgie, so we went with that. Here's Georgie!
We later found out he has FIV (feline aids) and went through a very emotional day, debating whether we should take him back to the shelter or not since he might infect our other two cats...but we decided to keep him because neither of us could bear the thought of giving him up. He had already been moved around to different counties in the state, and still hadn't been adopted. Now with him being FIV+, we knew nobody else would adopt him so now we just keep the cats separate from him. It's a bit sad because Georgie wants to play with our other two but he was basically raised outside so he doesn't know how to play properly and he bites at them which they don't like. My bf and I both try to play with him individually.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Time for me to cook our dinner! But first...hot chocolate! I like to use a little coffee creamer in my drink to give it a bit of extra flavor and make it a bit more thick. Nothing worse than runny hot chocolate IMO π€’
Now that's better. I can start to get ready for dinner now. I had a lot to cook aside from the turkey which was already in the crock pot. Mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, Cheddar Bay biscuits (from Red Lobster) and candied yams. We decided to save the macaroni & cheese and pie for another time. It was my first time making candied yams, so I followed the recipe exactly but immediately I noticed a problem. My pan was too big and I didn't have enough sweet potatoes to cover the entire bottom. I hoped it would still be okay, but...it really wasn't lol
I knew that I wouldn't be eating them, but my boyfriend actually ended up loving them even though they didn't turn out the way I hoped. So at least he ate some. Once I had everything cooked and ready I had to check on the turkey -
It looked and smelled delicious! We were ready to eat!
We just sat on the reclining couch in our living room and watched TV for most of the rest of the night. Nothing eventful.

It's Black Friday!! Normally one of the days I most look forward to every year due to the amazing deals on DVD's. With Covid and everything and ~new rules~, plus 2019's BF being terrible, I didn't have much to look forward to. We went to Meijer where I got some puzzles that were buy one get one half off...
Then we went to Wal-Mart to check out the DVD's and the selection was so embarrassing, I just half-heartedly looked through it not really scoping anything out. I always look for horror and there were almost NO good deals on any. I got about 5 dvd's that were on sale for BF and that's pretty pathetic considering in years past I've gotten 20+. More money for other things I guess! Once we got home, I ordered a ton of Harlequin books that were on sale and took a nap.

DUN DUN DUN
Flashback: I should have known Thanksgiving day would be terrible when my boyfriend woke me up to tell me he had some "bad news". That never fails to wake me up! Apparently the night before when I started the turkey in the crock pot, I actually plugged in the toaster cord instead of the crock pot one. Both are pure white π
I wake up early being incredibly sick which is SO not like me. I rarely vomit, but the last time I did I had food poisoning. It was a terrible day.

Still sick until late evening when I felt almost back to normal. I got my hopes up...
November 30th
I felt so sick I actually had to take an ambulance π to the hospital. I was also having a bad panic attack at the time which aggravated my symptoms. It was the first time I've ever taken an ambulance in my life.
I spent a few hours in the ER, alone of course because of Covid, and watched South Park from the hospital bed. Most people I know hate the hospital, but it's comforting to me so as soon as I got there my anxiety calmed down a bit. I had to get an IV with anti-nausea and fluids because I was severely dehydrated as well. DRINK YOUR WATER KIDS!! I went back home with anti-nausea medicine and a diagnosis of the stomach flu. As of the 3rd, I'm still not 100% but I'm getting there.
PS: Here's a sweet picture of Georgie to close out the article :)
