This depends on your denomination. Some Christian faiths allow wine, as the Bible itself doesn't say anything strictly against it, in fact, Jesus turns water into wine.
Some faiths, such as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a concept like the 'word of wisdom' which disallows any form of alcohol, as modern alcohols have been able to reach destructively high alcohol levels, and are used now recreationally rather than as a more sterile alternative to the usually contaminated water of Jesus' day.
